Can someone please....help a sista out! I want to put on a fundraiser for the sickle cell foundation here in Detroit, MI for October 31, 2009. But, I don't have a clue on how to get it started, can someone pass on some advice for a sista who wants to do something for a good cause...(:

It's gonna be a BALL & a BLAST! What an awesome cause for such a horrible killer! This dreadful enemy snuffed out the life one of my wonderful classmates back in H.S.! It robbed her loving parents of their beautiful daughter and all of us of a dear friend. I have received such a huge response from so many people that the best way for me to put on an event without all the hassle was to have it online through my Avon website...it's free for me and I can reach as many people to help me with my cause. First I want to applaud you for wanting to take on the challenge of doing a fundraiser for such a worthy cause. The most effective fundraisers that I have used have the least amount of work for you handling the products for packing and delivery...is to do it online. Find an AVON rep or other well known MLM rep and they can help you promote and have all the materials you need. The reason I recommend AVON is I used to be an rep and all of the tools are readily available for all the reps. Online fundraisers are great to get as many people to that rep's web page to order and let the company do the shipping directly to the consumer for you. There are also organizations on the web that do fundraisers as a business, I'm not too sure that I would want to use a company that I wasn't familiar with, but just giving that option. Maybe you can find one that someone you know has used before. Ask your church or other local organization that you have an affiliation with to get their members to support your fundraiser.

Fundraising

The first thing I suggest that you need in order to have a successful fundraiser is at least one unique selling point. There is nothing wrong with selling various kinds of products but if people see multiple benefits, rather than just buying merchandise to raise funds, you will create a far more appealing endeavour and attract more people. I will show you how we are doing this here in England via our four unique selling points.

I am currently spearheading a worldwide event that has a fundraising opportunity built into it, for organizations just like yours, which may be of interest to you.
