Can someone please....help a sista out! I want to put on a fundraiser for the sickle cell foundation here in Detroit, MI for October 31, 2009. But, I don't have a clue on how to get it started, can someone pass on some advice for a sista who wants to do something for a good cause...(:
It's gonna be a BALL & a BLAST! What an awesome cause for such a horrible killer! This dreadful enemy snuffed out the life one of my wonderful classmates back in H.S.! It robbed her loving parents of their beautiful daughter and all of us of a dear friend. Hope you don't mind but I shared this post on both Twitter & Facebook so more could know about it and get involved. $25,000.? No problem-Piece of cake! It's in the bag and a done deal! Have a great event Ardella! Sickle Cell Anemia DESERVES it! Keep us posted on the results ok? Diane in the "Big Apple" NYC.
Thank you so much for your advice and support. I have received such a huge response from so many people that the best way for me to put on an event without all the hassle was to have it online through my Avon website...it's free for me and I can reach as many people to help me with my cause. Because I have never done a fundraiser before this was the fastest, easiest, safest, and less expensive way to have a fundraiser and make money all at the same time for a good cause, if want to give your support go to my web site at www.youravon.com/ardellagillis look for online event and purchase something the process will go to Sickle Cell to fight this killer, IT'S GOT TO STOP...(: Much love and spread the word for me okay, we are going to make a change...(;
First I want to applaud you for wanting to take on the challenge of doing a fundraiser for such a worthy cause. The most effective fundraisers that I have used have the least amount of work for you handling the products for packing and delivery...is to do it online. Find an AVON rep or other well known MLM rep and they can help you promote and have all the materials you need. The reason I recommend AVON is I used to be an rep and all of the tools are readily available for all the reps. Online fundraisers are great to get as many people to that rep's web page to order and let the company do the shipping directly to the consumer for you. There are also organizations on the web that do fundraisers as a business, I'm not too sure that I would want to use a company that I wasn't familiar with, but just giving that option. Maybe you can find one that someone you know has used before. Ask your church or other local organization that you have an affiliation with to get their members to support your fundraiser.
Thank you so much for the advice and you are correct. I am an Avon online rep. and that is what I intend to do find an Avon rep. in my area and others who can help me raise the funds I need quickly. Thanks so much for your help.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Darlene for your wonderful and thought felt advice. I was informed by my district manager that we now can put on events and parties on our website and that's what I did to see my fundraiser event and e-party event go to my site at www.youravon.com/ardellagillis I have had such a great response, some people have supported me so far but I not giving up, this means a lot to me and I want to do it right for a special organization.
Thanks again sweetie,
"Together we can make things happen"!

Donald Brown from Great Britain at your service. First let me commend you on having the heart and mind to give back and support a worthy cause and to be part of the solution.
The first thing I suggest that you need in order to have a successful fundraiser is at least one unique selling point. There is nothing wrong with selling various kinds of products but if people see multiple benefits, rather than just buying merchandise to raise funds, you will create a far more appealing endeavour and attract more people. I will show you how we are doing this here in England via our four unique selling points.
I am currently spearheading a worldwide event that has a fundraising opportunity built into it, for organizations just like yours, which may be of interest to you. Allow me to guide you through it and let me know if you would to utilise the concept for your cause and for me to assist you. There is a bit to read but the information is key.
Unique Selling Point One
(Live Worldwide Broadcast)
Plans are underway for the official, global unveiling of a sculpture called The Struggle. It is designed to promote positive empowerment for all people and to inspire us to strive for excellence. On the same day and exact time that the sculpture is unveiled, print owners worldwide will also unveil their print of The Struggle sculpture to complete the largest, simultaneous media unveiling, print ceremony in history. This event will be broadcast live to millions worldwide via the Internet.
You may not be familiar with this sculpture so click on this short YouTube link to see exactly what I am talking about as I present The Struggle sculpture as part of my sermon to a church in North Carolina, and then come back and continue reading this information. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_2g8lUy0qzA
Unique Selling Point Two
Celebrated Hollywood actor, Joseph Marcell, a.k.a. Geoffrey the Butler on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air, will be the guest of honour and will unveil a second sculpture titled, Stop The Violence. Two million prints will be released worldwide for this and future unveilings and members of the general public are now purchasing their prints so they too can participate in the unveiling ceremony. (An ideal opportunity for a fundraiser)

Unique Selling Point Four
Okay, so now I can show you how everything fits together for your fundraising. As you can imagine, the prints are now in demand in part because of the meaning and message of the artwork, the upcoming unveiling ceremony, the Conferences and also because of the fundraising opportunity. The prints are 16 x 22 inches, full colour, and priced at £10 plus £3.50 shipping/postage.
The benefits of selling the prints as part of a fundraiser are as follows:
1. 40% £4, from every print purchased or sold through your organization will go towards supporting your cause.
2. If, for example, 250 prints are sold or purchased, £1,000 will go to your cause and you and a guest will be invited as one of our VIP Conference Guests, all expenses paid, in either New York or England, your choice.
3. If you have a website we will be happy to provide your with your own page and link to promote your cause worldwide and ensure that your fundraising campaign can be long-term. Everyone that purchases the prints via your website will automatically generate £4 for your cause.
4. If you have affiliates in other States or countries that wish to support you cause, you simply send them to your website so they can purchase their prints to support you and to be part of the next unveiling ceremony.
5. Your company will have a dedicated page on our website to provide you with further promotion.
I have covered the main points and trust this information will help you.
