Getting started..Event Planner

Hello Ladies,

I am just starting on getting an event business up and running and I need to work on a business plan. Does anyone have any tips, also any times on event planning? I have the eye but I will be teaching myself all the steps offline.

Where are you located? There are several colleges/universities that offer Hospitality programs that focus on meeting and event planning.

It would help if you volunteer for organizations on their galas, fundraisers, walks, etc. this will help you get some experience and possibly learn some of the behind the scenes of planning.

I am in Roanoke Va and planning to Northern Va this summer. There is nothing around here. I looked online at a few. I have stated volunteering with a foster home placement company and also made a face book page to get my name out.
