A Social Network for Women in Business, Women Entrepreneurs, and Bloggers
We all put so much effort into preparing or hiring someone to prepare a press release for our businesses, that I think it very important to take just a little time to make sure what you do actually gets "noticed" by reporters.
If you're in a rush and want to read all 5 tips right away you can visit my link here:http://writetotype.com/five-ways-to-disposal-proof-your-press-release/
For now let's talk about each of the tips in a series of discussions.
Make sure you have the right recipients:
Do your research and ensure that you have the right reporter. If you're business is about hair care and you're sending your press release to the crime beat reporter, you're almost guaranteed to get your release tossed out.
Contact the key media outlets in your area or region (all those newspapers, TV stations, magazines, radio stations and major websites where you know your customers are in the audience).
Then ask for the names and contact information for the reporters and editors who cover the topic your business falls under.
If you have any questions about this kind of media research or any relevant experiences you want to discuss on this topic, please post below.
