I was taught everything BUT finances, growing up in a middle-class African American community, and that was unfortunate. Paycheck to paycheck was our lives, and that is the adulthood I am living and want to change.
you are not alone. iam barely getting by with my finances. my mom was not good with money and i didn't know how bad until she passed away and the bills started coming in for her. i'm committing to putting money away for a riny day or just sto start saving something even if it's 5 dollars everytime i get paid
Sounds a little like me. It wasnt always like that though, I was doing okay, but sometimes we run into unexpected situations (ie. robbery, fire, relocation, job loss) that put us behind and if not prepared, we dont quite have the resources or know how to bounce back.
I myself know that I have the resources, and really all it takes is discipline to try and dedicate time to actually learning something. Read a book, watch a few videos, start applying strategies. Something's gotta give...right??
