"Are you scared?" "Yes, Sh*tless." | Smell Goods '98™

This post was written earlier this week, and went out to many of my social networking platforms. Many women have already expressed the inspiration that was received from this post. It brings me great joy that my transparency was accepted.

Talk to yourself much?  Yes, I do - I like talking to insightful people.  Funny how it's yourself that can shine light (constantly) on exactly who you are and what you are made of.  The post title is a…

Lessons I've Learned from my Mac

So I've finally taken the plunge. I ditched my PC (sort of) & bought a Macbook. My reason for wanting a Mac was because I wanted to increase my video & graphic abilities, and I heard Mac was the way to go. Plus, I have an iPhone & iPad, which I love, so why not, right?  Well, I have to be honest and say that my plunge has been more like a slow crawl and I haven't quite made it to the land of computer bliss, yet.  But in my frustration of making the transition, I have…

Here are four ways having one can benefit you:

  1. A gratitude journal helps you keep things in perspective. It allows you to see that…

Collaborating to Help Women Go From Brokenness to Greatness | Smell Goods '98™

This summer, I was presented with an opportunity to collaborate with LaTersa Blakely.  LaTersa is a coach and author inspiring women to go from brokenness to greatness.  In giving her best to her clients, LaTersa reached out to other women entrepreneurs--experts in their field.  Her request to me: "Speak on beauty."

What I love about following my spirit: I asked LaTersa to give me a couple of days, because at the time I could not…

6 Characteristics of a Victorious Woman

According to Merriam-Webster.com, one definition of “victorious” is:

  • having won a victory
  • of, relating to, or characteristic of victory

This led me to look up the definition of “victory,” which is achievement of mastery or success in a struggle or endeavor against odds or difficulties.

Here are a few characteristics I believe all victorious women possess:

  1. She knows how to let go of the past and other…

I'm Not Stressed or Depressed . . . I Just Need A Little Me Time

It's all about me! ‘Me time' is an activity everyone should feel inspired to indulge in upon feeling stressed or depressed. Whether it is an hour, a day or a weekend (wouldn't that be ideal), ‘me time' is often needed. Without interruptions, make time to read a book, listen to an entire CD, indulge in a little pampering or whatever else comes to mind. The key is spending some quality time with YOU. Guilt free.

Why you should Break Free from Comfort

Comfort means you’re safe, you’re in a domain that is not opposing or challenging, you’re familiar with that around you and there is no intent on changing from your large, strong and coo-shy safety net, but what happens when you want to break free from that net, jump back into the ocean or spread your wings? DISCOMFORT! Facing new challenges is exactly that as it…
