Caterpillar Scholarship Program 2011-12
Founded in 1952, the Caterpillar Foundation has donated more than $300 million toward education, the environment, and helping people meet basic needs. The Caterpillar Foundation in partnership with UNCF will provide scholarships to students majoring in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, marketing, economics, accounting, finance, business administration, software engineering, and computer science. Students must conform to the restrictions above.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0
scale
Students must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Students must be enrolled fulltime at an UNCF member institution
Students must be classified as a sophomore or above at the time
of application

Stokes Educational Scholarship Program

The National Security Agency (NSA) is currently accepting applications from across the country for the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program. This program is looking for high school seniors, particularly minorities, who are interested in pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering.
Selected participants in the Stokes Program receive an annual salary, full college tuition and mandatory fees, and reimbursement for required books.
A position in the Stokes Educational Scholarship Program means you will attend classes full-time at the college of your choice in the U.S., and then work during the summer at NSA in areas that are related to your course of study. If you are selected as a program participant, you are required to work in your area of study at NSA after your college graduation for at least one-and-a-half times your length of study. If you should leave NSA employment earlier, we'll make arrangements for you to pay back the government for your tuition and book costs. Also, students accepted into the program must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale each semester after their freshman year.
While the eligibility requirements for our Stokes Program are subject to change from year to year, below you will find our basic prerequisites.


High School Students: (applying for Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering):
- U.S. Citizenship
- Minimum SAT score of 1600, or ACT score of 25, or equivalent College Board Score.
- Preferred GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Coca−Cola Scholars Program
WHEN TO APPLY: The application is currently open. Initial Applications are accepted through Oct 31, 2011 of the senior year in high school.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
1. Seniors in high schools throughout the United States who meet the eligibility requirements may apply each year for one of 250 four-year, achievement-based scholarships.

2. Approximately 2,200 applicants will be selected as Semifinalists and notified by mail and email around December 1. Semifinalists must then complete a secondary application, including essays, official transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. Semifinalist applications are due by mid-January. Our Program Review Committee will select 250 Finalists to advance to the final interview phase. Notifications are sent mid-February.


3. In April, the 250 Finalists are invited to Atlanta for personal interviews. The Finalists are interviewed by a National Selection Committee representing outstanding leaders in business, government, education and the arts. 50 students are then designated as National Scholars and receive awards of $20,000 for college; 200 students are designated as Regional Scholars and receive awards of $10,000 for college.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

APPLICANTS MUST BE:
• CURRENT high school (or home-schooled) seniors attending school in the United States (or select DoD schools);

• U.S. Citizens; U.S. Nationals; U.S. Permanent Residents; Temporary Residents (in a legalization program); Refugees; Asylums; Cuban-Haitian Entrants; or Humanitarian Parolees;


• anticipating completion of high school diploma at the time of application;


• planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution;


• a minimum 3.00 GPA at the end of their junior year of high school.


APPLICANTS MAY NOT:

• be children or grandchildren of employees, officers or owners of Coca−Cola bottling companies, The Coca−Cola Company, Company divisions or subsidiaries.

Scholarship Detail:

The AT&T Foundation has announced the continuation of their scholarship program with UNCF to provide scholarships for African-American children or step-children of current regular full-time employees of AT&T, Inc. and its U.S. Subsidiaries. Applicants must be a high school senior (planning to enroll
in) or an undergraduate student attending any accredited two or four-year college or university. The candidates must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale. The applicants must be 25 years old or younger as of February 15, 2012. Children and step-children of senior managers and officers are not eligible. The awards of $2,500 will be granted to recipients attending a four-year college or university while the recipients of a two-year college will receive $1,500. The scholarships will be awarded for the 2012-13 Academic year.

AORN is the professional organization of perioperative registered nurses whose mission is to support other registered nurses in achieving optimal outcomes for patients undergoing operative and other invasive procedures. The scholarship offers financial support to students enrolled in nursing schools and perioperative nurses pursuing bachelors, masters, or doctoral degrees. With the critical nursing shortage and the cost of higher education, the AORN FoundationBoard of Trustees knows it is of the utmost importance to fund scholarships for students pursuing careers in nursing and for nurses advancing their professional careers. desire and ambition to succeed. The winner(s)of this annual scholarship will receive

their award within 2 weeksof the listed deadline. All applicants should include their

full name and mailing address with their submissions.

The A&F Scholarshipsare available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as

all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution.

The National Association of Colored Women's Club (NACWC) has the objective to obtain for African American women the opportunity of reaching the highest levels in all fields of human endeavor.
This is done through their annual Hallie Q. Brown Scholarships, which sare awarded biennially to students who are recommended by an active member of NACWC.
Applicants must be a high school graduate with a minimum C average, and must be in need of financial assistance and submit with application family income, sources of income and number in household.

11-14-2011Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship
The Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship was developed to provide educational opportunities for talented individuals pursuing advanced degrees at the master's level and to acknowledge and honor
the unique contributions of Dr. Ralph W. Shrader, the only AFCEA Chairman of the Board to be elected to two different two-year terms. Dr. Shrader championed increased opportunities for women and minorities in the communications and electronics fields.
The AFCEA EducationalFoundation is grateful to Booz Allen Hamilton for providing the initial
investment to establish the Dr. Ralph W. Shrader Scholarship fund.
The Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship will be provided directly to the winner and is in addition to any other funds which the student may receive. Presentation will be made by a representative from the
AFCEA Educational Foundation and whenever possible, Dr. Shrader or a designated representative from Booz Allen Hamilton.
Scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded to full-time graduate students currently working toward a
master's degree in the following or related fields of electrical, electronics, chemical, systems or communications engineering; physics; mathematics; computer science; computer technology; or management information systems. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.
Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled full time in a master's degree
program at an accredited university in the United States. Primary consideration will be given for demonstrated academic excellence.
Important: PLEASE NOTE: At least two letters of recommendation will be required from field-of-study professors.
Instructions on electronic submission of the Recommendation letters will be provided to the
endorsers as part of the On-line Application process. Letters will be addressed

The program is two-fold working with the United Water Foundation and United Water forprofit companies. The United Water Foundation, is a non-profit private foundation formed in January 2009. United Water is one of the largest environmental services companiesin the United States. Headquartered in Harrington Park, New Jersey, we serve 27million people in more than 40 states. Our parent company, Suez Environment, is a global water and waste treatment company whose activities focus on provider water to those without access, the distribution of water from alternative resources, the management of industrial impacts and coastline protection.

The UNCF Scholars program will provide selected candidates a 10-week paid internship at a United Water for profit facility and UNCF will provide a $5,000.00 scholarship for the 2012-2013 academic year paid for by the United Water Foundation. The internships will be offered at the following locations: Harrington Park, New Jersey. Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Wilmington, Delaware, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Pontiac, Michigan, and Indianapolis, Indiana. . Each candidate will need to go through the United Water for-profit hiring process and will be expected to present to key Project/Department staff a final report and/or PowerPoint presentation of theirinternship experience. This program is made possible by a grant from the United Water Foundation to provide the dollars to the UNCF and by United Water for-profit companies whichwill provide work opportunities.
