The Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship was developed to provide educational opportunities for talented individuals pursuing advanced degrees at the master's level and to acknowledge and honor
the unique contributions of Dr. Ralph W. Shrader, the only AFCEA Chairman of the Board to be elected to two different two-year terms. Dr. Shrader championed increased opportunities for women and minorities in the communications and electronics fields.
The AFCEA EducationalFoundation is grateful to Booz Allen Hamilton for providing the initial
investment to establish the Dr. Ralph W. Shrader Scholarship fund.
The Ralph W. Shrader Diversity Scholarship will be provided directly to the winner and is in addition to any other funds which the student may receive. Presentation will be made by a representative from the
AFCEA Educational Foundation and whenever possible, Dr. Shrader or a designated representative from Booz Allen Hamilton.
Scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded to full-time graduate students currently working toward a
master's degree in the following or related fields of electrical, electronics, chemical, systems or communications engineering; physics; mathematics; computer science; computer technology; or management information systems. Majors directly related to the support of U.S. intelligence or national security enterprises with relevance to the mission of AFCEA will also be eligible.
Eligibility: Candidate must be a U.S. citizen currently enrolled full time in a master's degree
program at an accredited university in the United States. Primary consideration will be given for demonstrated academic excellence.

Imagine America High School Scholarship

Are you a high school student trying to find money to pay for your career college education? Are you planning to attend any of over 500 participating career colleges across the country? The Imagine America high school scholarship program can help. The Imagine America Foundation created its Imagine America High School Scholarship Program in 1998 to help provide scholarships for high school students. This annual scholarship program has helped thousands of high school seniors afford a career education at hundreds of career schools across the United States. Each year, every high school in the United States and Puerto Rico may nominate up to five graduating seniors to receive a $1,000 Imagine America scholarship! The Foundation works with nearly 15,000 high school guidance counselors across the country. Graduating high school seniors who meet the recommended guidelines are eligible to receive a $1,000 tuition discount that can be used at career colleges participating in the Imagine America Scholarship Program throughout the nation. The program runs annually and has a December 31 deadline.

Burger King Scholars Program
Burger King assists students who work part-time and excel academically. Since 2000, the program has granted more than 11,000 scholarships throughout the United States, Canada, and Puerto .
Students may apply from public, private, vocational, technical, parochial and alternative high schools throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
Applicants must be high school seniors who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent. They must also work part-time an average of 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year (unless individual circumstances prevents the student's involvement).
Awards must be used for educational expenses, such as tuition or required fees and books, and must be used during the first year of college or post-secondary vocational/technical school. Awards are given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability, or national origin.

Please note that students DO NOT have to be employed at a Burger King restaurant to be eligible for a scholarship.

Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship

 
Applicants are evaluated for their potential to successfully complete school, their financial need, and their commitment to a long-term career in cosmetology.
Only cosmetology students will be considered for an award (this includes barber schools, but not esthetician training.)
Submission of a complete application by the deadline, and active enrollment or acceptance to a cosmetology school by August of the award year required.
Candidates must include a letter of recommendation from a sponsor. Preferably, your sponsor should be an employer, instructor, counselor, or someone qualified to offer testimony of
your character. The sponsor's role is to write a letter of recommendation supporting
your candidacy in response to the questions listed on the application.

Academic Competitiveness Grant

The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG) is for first-year and second-year college students who graduated from high school.

The amount of the ACG, when combined with a Pell Grant,may not exceed the student's cost of attendance. In addition, if the number of eligible students is large enough that payment of the full grant amounts would exceed the program appropriation in any fiscal year, then the amount of the grant to each eligible student may be ratably reduced.

To be eligible for each academic year, a student must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen; be a Federal Pell Grantrecipient; and be a first or second-year undergraduate student or a student in a certificate program of at least one year in a degree program at a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution.

CollegeWeekLive
is giving away $10,000 in Scholarships at CollegeWeekLive Fall, the world’s largest online college fair, November 2nd - 3rd, 2011. The $5,000 Attendee Scholarship will be given to a student who attends the online college fair, and the $5,000 Mascot Competition Scholarship will be given to a student who not
only attends the event but also uses their creative prowess to design a mascot for CollegeWeekLive. Applicants must be high school or current college students between the ages of 14 – 24. Registration is free online at CollegeWeekLive.com.

Get Green Video Contest
The Get Green Video Contest is open to U.S. high school students between the ages of 14 and 19. To enter, you must submit a 30 - 120 second video that shows how one or more of the elements of science, technology, engineering, or math can help green your city or town. The first place winner will receive $500 and a Samsung Galaxy Tab; second place, $250 and a Samsung Netbook; and third place, $150 and a Samsung HD Camcorder.
