Well On My Way

016.JPG

This is for all the natural ladies, those thinking about it, and those who are still relaxing!! Just wanted to show off my coily coils so that you can see how my hair is progressing. The picture that you are viewing above I have not applied any gel, hairdress, oil or spritz since my last wash, which was Friday and it is almost Friday again. I wanted to show you how well the My Glory Hair Care Products work. As you can tell my hair is very hydrated to look like this after a week with out applying any extra products. Some women like to apply the products everyday and sport the wet look for their style...and that is ok if that is what they want to do, as for me I do not particularly care for the wet look; if my hair can look like this dry then I do not need to apply any more products until the next time I wash.

017.JPG

After I wash I apply a generous amount of aloe vera gel, hairdress and since my hair is already wet or damp I do not spray with spritz (all the products I use are My Glory Hair Care with exception of the aloe vera gel). The next step I do is to work the products throughout the hair with my hands then I comb thru my hair; my hair is very easy to comb no tangles:). Then after I comb I brush my hair very well to make sure that all of the products are distributed evenly thru the hair, now it is time to decide on what style I want to wear. This weeks style is my hair pulled back with curls in back. To achieve this hair style, I brush my hair back and tied it down (I took a pair of my little grandaughters' used tights and cut out one leg and use it to tie down my hair in the front, along with a wide head band, wave cap, and silk cap) I do this to help to protect my hair and the ends of my hair. The items that are featured below are in the order that I use them. I layer them and this works very well for me and stays in place.

If you have gone natural and feel that it is a chore you can book your Hair Care Party right now and I will come to your home with your permission and help you and your friends/family with the process of applying the products.

The price to host a party is $150.00. As an incentive to you, we encourage our potential customer(s) who sponsor a party to invite 5 to 15 friends or family members to help them offset the party cost. We recommend you that you ask them to donate $10.00 each for the show and maybe have some snacks served. Demos helps to promote togetherness and networking and are a lot of fun.

For hosting a hair care party, you (the host or hostess) will be given a $15.00 savings for their purchase of the full set of the My Glory Hair Care.

018.JPG

The host / hostess can ask each person(s) whom they invited who will be attending the hair party to visit this website to pay for themselves and/or if they are bringing a guest the guest can be directed here to pay also.

Optional:

The host/hostess can collect all monies due and make a group payment if all parties involved are in agreement.

By The Stroke Of 12

By The Stroke Of 12

Have you ever heard the term to stroke your hair 100 times before going to bed...well make sure to listen to it because it is true. Stroking your hair will make it shine, gives it strength, make it eaiser to comb, and most important of all make it more manageable. Stroking your hair sounds easy, but it is more than a chore; chore meaning that it is taking time from you that you do not wish to give especially if you have to stroke more than one head of hair...eaiser said than done. We must learn and then practice that there is no person more important that you than you. Because if you fall apart what happens to everything else around you? Not only do we depend on ourselves, but other people depend on us as well, so we are very important people (spend time with yourself and on yourself).

Make sure that before you began your stroking regiment, make sure that you have all of the proper tools needed for the best results, which is a very good comb and brush. If you have long hair then you will need a wooden comb and brush. You would need to comb your hair first and then stroke it with your brush. If you have short hair you would need a wooden comb and a regular brush. The reason you would need a regular brush is because the wood brush pegs are spaced too far apart for short hair, and you will not be able to achieve a good stroke for your hair...make sure that your brush has strong hard bristles and it does not contain boars hair. For natural hair seperate it into sections comb and then brush. Once you are finished with the stroke conditioning regimen on your hair make sure to tie it up properly with a wave cap and a silk scarf.

Remember that in order to have the best hair you have to take care of your hair and use the very best natural products on your hair...to achieve the best use the best, but most important of all having the knowledge to achieve your goals. There are a lot of products out there some are good and others are not; we need to know the good ones. Knowing what chemicals are in the products and what they do and how they react on your hair is a good place to gain knowledge. Don't just trust your hair to anyone do your homework and pay attention to how your hair reacts to certain products...this means pay attention to yourself, because you are important.

Don't under estimate the power of the BC (brush, comb) stroke it will make all the difference in the texture of your hair and managabality of your hair. Applying a good moisturising hair dress is a good application tool to use when combing and brushing your hair. My Glory Hair Care Moisturizing Hair Dress is just the application. Apply a modest amount depending upon the thickness and length of the hair and then spritz with the My Glory Hair Olive Oil hair spritz. Before you apply the stroke, first comb your hair to remove any tangles, and then apply the stroke and watch the transformation in your hair--you will be very pleased.

I usually recommend the use of My Glory Hair Dress for little girls hair, but adults feel free to express yourself, if your hair is natural.

Stay tuned I have more to come. Please leave a comment or a question and I will be sure to get back in-touch with you

Get your Vitamin D!

Vitamin D is necessary for the body to absorb calcium, which is necessary for bone growth and continued strength. The body also needs adequate levels of vitamin D to ensure proper function of the immune system and the neuromuscular system. Vitamin D deficiency in the body can lead to soft and/or fragile bones. In some recent studies, vitamin D supplementation may be helpful in treating cancer, depression, autism and other maladies.

Vitamin D can be derived naturally from the sun. For the average person, spending as much at 10 to 20 minutes in the sun at least three times a week will fulfill their vitamin D requirements. Keep in mind that people with darker skin need more sun exposure because the melanin in the skin tends to block vitamin D absorption. In addition, those who live in an area which is north of Columbia, South Carolina’s latitude may not be exposed to enough sun during the winter months and may require supplementation.

Rutgers University, with campuses in New Brunswick and Newark, New Jersey is conducting an ongoing study in regards to how supplementation of vitamin D can halt and/or decrease bone loss in post-menopausal women who are dieting. Furthermore, recent studies have shown that keeping sufficient levels of vitamin D may aid in weight loss.

Even though vitamin D supplements may keep the body healthy and may be natural, more does not always mean better. An overdose of vitamin D may cause kidney damage, high blood pressure and heart arrhythmia. If you suspect that you may have a vitamin D deficiency, check with your doctor or other medical professional to get an official diagnosis.

New Product - Curlicreme

I have been in the shea body butter business since 2006. As a woman who wears her hair natural, I've been working with my butters and oils over the years to create a formulation that is both good for the hair and
will also give me the shine and curl definition that I need.

I've tried many products on the market, but always found them too sticky, too greasy or too many chemicals. I also don't care for the use of mineral oil on my hair because it doesn't seem to absorb. (Note
that I am not against mineral oil - I use good ol' Vaseline for those pesky edges as well as to remove makeup on occasion.)

After much experimentation and melting and whipping, I finally created a product that is great for my, and my daughter's natural hair. It gives us shine and curl definition and is never sticky or too greasy.

I call it Curlicreme, and it contains shea butter, mango butter, aloe vera gel and black castor oil.

Check it out here.

You can purchase a 2 oz jar for just 5.00 plus shipping.

My Hair Moisturizing Video

Hi everyone the above video is to show the progress that my hair has made since I last showed it to you. I have used nothing on my hair but my products since the big cut, and as you can see my products are doing well. They work very well and give me the results I wish to achieve. Natural hair is very beautiful once you know how to take care of it. As you can see my hair does not have the little balls of hair at the end...if you are seeing this you need to change your products, because your hair is not getting the moisture it needs. And another thing that you should not see is the fuzzy look...you should see either curls or waves not a mixture of fuzz, curls and waves. And this can be caused by the products you may be using, not covering properly at night before bed, using just water to wet the hair and grease. If you are using just water on your natural hair...this is a no no, just water alone will dry your ends (I will post my hair spritzer soon, if you would like to order please send an email to pictureperfecthealth@gmail.com). I mentioned in the video Aloe Vera Gel to put on your hair, aloe vera gel will moisturized your hair almost instantly (make sure to use the one without alcohol and coloring make sure that it is pure). The other product that I use along with the aloe vera gel is the optimum 3 in 1 oil (in the yellow bottle this is a very good products) this works very well in keeping the hair moisturized. Other hair gels makes the hair hard and dry and easy to break. Remember love your hair, and it will love you back. If you have any questions or would like to leave a comment, please feel free to do so.

Black Women Can Grow Long Hair

The Long Hard Road

Do you agree with the statement that black women are obsessed with hair? Is this so-called obession the reason why the industry makes billions? If not then...what is it? I believe that black women instinctively know that our hair can grow, and it does not always have to be genetics. We don't know how to take care of our hair or know what to use on our hair to get it to grow. The practice that

2797-sedu%5B1%5D.jpg black people use to do especially women and little girls was wash our hair once a month. Because most of us, during those times were getting our hair pressed/hot combed, and that was once a month. We should paractice keeping our hair cleaner. Women with natural hair can wash twice a week. Women with relaxed should wash their hair once a week. After we would get our hair pressed/hotcombed then we would slather our hair with grease. Grease is a lubricant not a moisturizer it prevents moisture from entering into the hair shaft, thus making our hair dry even after using grease. We mis-take delicate hair for nappy or bad hair...it is neither one, it is just dry, and when we comb or brush it; it snaps and breaks (you can actually hear it). Black hair grows out in a coil, it has to go thru seven layers of scalp, because the scalp is so thick it causes it to coil. If you want your hair to grow with a more straighter texture you would have to shave your head and scrape your scalp. I have never known anyone personally that has done this procedure, but it is very true. Since most of us are not going to go thru the process of having our scalps scraped we have to learn how to take care of our hair to make it thrive and grow.

One of the first steps is using the right products. The prodcuts you use on your hair should be as natural as you can get them. I just read an article recently that most shampoos are nothing but detergent and chemicals that strips our hair of much needed moisture. The shampoo should have more plant based ingredients that helps the hair by relaxing it and making it soft.

149.JPGAnother step to getting your hair to grow is to use more protective hair styles...meaning more up hairdos (visit http://mybbwo.com/profile/Fatima311 she has nice hair accessories for your hair for up-dos) if you have long hair or short hair cover your hair with a cute stylish hair coverings. You will be suprised at how well this protecitve process works for your hair. Before going to bed at night you should stroke your hair with a natural hair brush and tie it up with a silk cap. Do not retire to bed without tying your hair this is so damageing and drying to the hair. During the day for long or short hair you should wear a stylish covering on the hair or up-dos to protect it from being damaged by the element's of nature such as wind, cold weather, and the sun. Try not to wear your hair down because when you do this it causes you to comb your hair too often. This tugging and pulling on the hair is not good for it...so try to wear the hair covered or more in up-dos. I am speaking to women who have natural or relaxed hair you both can use the same process to get your hair under control.

I know that I keep saying this over and over and over again...Moisture, Moisture, Moisture our hair need Moisture. Our hair has to be infused with Moisture. It also needs to be groomed and conditioned with natural grooming comb and brushed day and night. Plastic combs and bushes should not be the grooming tools of choice. We should spend time and money on ourselves,

Natural Remedies for Mental Illness - Fish Oil!

According
to the results of a recently released Austrian study from the February
issue of the Archives of General Psychiatry
, fish oil, which is
high in omega-3 fatty acids, may actually reduce the risk of full
blown psychotic disorders
in those who display signs of mental
illness.

The omega-3 fatty acids in the fish oil may help brain cells repair themselves and remain intact – while the actual cause of schizophrenia
is not known, researchers speculate that people with this particular
type of mental illness do not process fatty acids properly,
which may lead to damage of the brain cells.

The research was funded by the Stanley
Medical Research Institute
, a nonprofit in Chevy
Chase, Md., that supports research on schizophrenia and bipolar
disorder.

Omega-3 fatty acids help to reduce inflammation in the body while omega-6 fatty
acids tend to promote inflammation. The average American diet contains nearly 14-25 more omega-6 fatty acids than omega-3 fatty acids. On the other hand, the Mediterranean
diet
has a much more healthy balance between the two fatty acids – it does not depend so heavily on meat, but relies on foods higher in omega-3 fatty acids such as fish, olive oil, and garlic
in addition to wines.

However, one can still raise their consumption of omega-3 fatty acids without much change in diet through the use of fish oil supplements.

Not only does omega-3 reduce inflammation in the body, but also may help lower the risk of diseases such as cancer, heart disease and arthritis as well as skin conditions such as eczema.

If you do decide to take fish oil supplements, remember to look for high quality fish oils that are screened for mercury contaminants.

And as always, consult a medical professional who can provide you with individualized information.

Natural Hot Oil Treatment for Hair - All Hair!

Despite the pictures you may see of me with straight hair, I am a curly girl ususally. Sometimes I’ll get into a tussle with the hair dryer and end up with straight hair, but if you see me dropping off my
kindergartener in the morning, you’ll see a mass of curly hair. Either way, in the years that I’ve been taking care of my hair, I’ve noticed the biggest problem with my hair is that it needs, craves moisture.
I’ve used numerous treatments on my hair, all of which do work, but I wanted to share the Hot Oil Hair treatment.

Now, you can purchase those little tubes of oil in the store for a buck or two, but listen to me, you can do your hot oil hair treatment for free. I say for free because you probably all ready have what you
need right at home ioliveoil-250x300.jpgn your cabinet.

Ingredients you will need: Olive oil or soybean oil….that’s it! Of course you can get fancy if you like, but it’s the oil that counts, so I like to stick to the basics.

Depending on the amount of hair that you have, heat a 1/2 to a cup of olive oil in the microwave. I usually use a mug and heat up my olive oil in that. Heat for about 45 seconds to 1 min, depending on the power of your microwave.

BE CAREFUL THE OIL IS HOT! Please test the the oil before applying it to your scalp. Hot oil can burn!!! No, I haven’t been burned, but I did have an “owie” moment with my fingers. You can use an cotton ball to apply the oil to the scalp and roots. Be sure to saturate the hair as much as you can.

Pop a shower cap on your head and relax for about 15 minutes, or as long as you want.

Rinse your hair with warm water – since I’m natural, the more oil that is sort of “left over” the better. Rinse as much as you wish, then towel dry.

Natural Remedies for Acne and Facial Blemishes

Many individuals have suffered from acne at one time or another in their lives. It may lessen or worsen with the seasons, diet or with hormonal changes in the body. While it is not a
life-threatening condition, many who deal with acne may feel a loss of self-esteem, especially if the acne is severe or leaves behind scarring. The acne may also be painfully inflamed or sore.

Certainly, the shelves are full of medications especially formulated for the elimination of acne, but these medications may cause dry, flaky skin and may also aggravate the condition. Therefore, natural cures for acne may be the first line of defense because they can be less harsh on the
skin.

Mix equal parts of fresh lime juice and milk and use a cloth or cotton ball to apply the resulting mixture to the inflamed areas. Let sit for 15-20 minutes, then rinse clean.

Yogurt and oatmeal make a wonderful acne healing mask for the face. The yogurt’s lactic acid content can serve to soothe the skin, reducing inflammation and cleansing pores. Oatmeal can
soothe irritation and reduce inflammation also. Mix plain yogurt with enough finely ground oatmeal to make a paste. Apply the mask to a clean, dry face and let sit for about 15 minutes. Rinse gently with warm water and pat dry. If necessary, apply a light oil such as olive or sunflower oil to moisturize your face.

Ripe tomatoes are a natural astringent for the face and are great for oily skin. Simply cut a ripe tomato in half and apply to the acne areas. Leave the juice for about 20 minutes, then rinse
clean. You may also use tomato paste for easier application.

Please remember to do a skin patch test before applying any of these recipes to your skin and/or face.

This article is for informational purposes only and is not intended to treat, diagnose
or cure any condition. Consult with your doctor or medical professional
before undertaking any type of treatment.

Divine Solutions For Skincare

When It comes to organic skin care, using fruits and vegetables during your cleansing routine has become commonplace

Using organically grown fruits and vegetables such as ginger, apple and papaya, have proven to have positive skin care results. They have proven most effective when it comes to repairing damaged skin and moisturizing dry skin. Almost every skin care guide has a section on organic skin care, including the actions of various fruits and vegetables on skin. So choose the ones that are more suitable for your skin type and start experimenting with them until you finally select the ones that are most suitable for inclusion in your organic skin care routine. It’s important that you use fresh organic fruits/vegetables. Don’t try to utilize the rotten ones for your skin, their only place is in the garbage. Milk is known to posses good cleansing properties; in fact, the name of some skin care products contains the word ‘milk’ in them. A combination of milk with ground oatmeal acts as wonderful cleanser.
Divine Nature™ recommends using goat milk for luxurious results. Ground oatmeal is especially good for oily skins and is a popular ingredient in organic skin care regimen. It is used in various combinations e.g. with egg, honey, milk and fruits, for preparation of organic facial packs. Another organic element to consider for your skin care regime is wheat germ. Because it is blessed with high amounts of vitamin E, it can aid in moisturizing the skin and help to remove dead skin cells. In addition to oatmeal, wheat germ and it’s by product, wheat germ oil, are often ingredients found in organic skin treatments used to moisturize and exfoliate facial skin. Other organic sources for removing dead skin cells and helping the skin to retain its moisture are yogurt and sour cream. Organic honey is well known for its effectiveness when it comes to an organic skin care regime. Honey contains natural properties that aid in moisture retention. In addition, using honey adds a healthy glow to your skins appearance.
