Is Your Hair Style Causing You To Lose Your HAIR?

Traction Alopecia, a hair loss condition caused by constant pulling or tension over a long period generally occurs in persons who wears tight braids, especially "cornrows" that lead to high tension, pulling and breakage of hair. This condition can lead to temporary or permanent hair loss due to damage to the hair follicles. This condition is most common in African-American women and men who braid their hair too tightly, it is reversible if diagnosed early on and the abuse stops. In Traction Alopecia, hair loss is often in the frontal and temporal regions, when the hair is constantly pulled back in a ponytail, bun or cornrows. Although, it can also appear where ever the hair is pulled to tightly; for example in the areas were plaits or cornrows are tight. Traction Alopecia can also occur due to over processing the hair with dyes and relaxers, so it’s imperative to follow instructions closely and to do a strand test to make sure the hair is strong enough to withstand these types of treatments. The obvious way to stop traction and traumatic alopecia is by wearing styles that aren’t too tight and be sure to switch up your hair style. Do not be afraid to stop your braider if they are pulling the hair too tightly and again, be mindful of the chemicals you are having applied or are applying to your hair. Alopecia is detecting it early. Hair styles that put unnecessary strain on the hair root must be changed for "looser, gentler hair style. Unfortunately, no medical treatment is available to reverse late-stage traction alopecia. Facts about Organic Body Products

When shopping for personal care products, there is an amazing array of bath and body products for your choosing. The labels scream "organic", "natural", "made with organic ingredients" and the like. You certainly want to choose the best for your health and your family's health, so your question may be, "What's the difference?" Read on for the facts about organic body products.1. The FDA (Federal Department of Agriculture) does not regulate or define the term "organic" in reference to personal body care products. In other words, the government does not certify organic body care products as "officially organic" but they do regulate the ingredients that are contained within that body product.2. In order to be certified organic, the product must be made up of organic agricultural ingredients (such as cocoa butter, shea butter, herbs and oils). In addition, the way in which the ingredients are produced, the handlers of these ingredients and manufacturer of the final product must be certified by an organic certifying agent who is USDA accredited. (Water and salt are excluded from the ingredients.)There are several levels of certification for these organic body products:4. A product which is labeled as "100 percent organic" indicates that the product includes only organically produced ingredients. These products carry a USDA Organic Seal and display the certifying agent's name and address.5. A product which is labeled "organic" should contain at least 95% organic ingredients and the remaining percentage of the ingredients must be on the approved National List of approved substances organic products. These organic body products will display the USDA organic seal as well as the certifying agent's name and address.6. "Made with organic ingredients" indicates that the particular product contains at least 70% organic ingredients. These products cannot carry the USDA organic seal but must display the certifying agent's name and address.7. An "organic body product" with less than 70% organic ingredients cannot use the term "organic" on the main label. They should not carry the USDA seal, nor the certifying agent's name/address.Understand that while the USDA does regulate agricultural ingredients that go into the organic body products, they do not regulate and have no authority over the labeling or production of products that do not utilized agricultural ingredients. Which basically means if that mascara you're buying claims to be "organic" it's most likely is not. Hello to all! I know I’ve been MIA for a while – I’ve managed to peek in and read a bit, so I am caught up on what’s going on. I’ve been in the process of switching my website from its initial inception at neosoul.essentials.com to www.sheaproducts.info . I plan on sitting down at the computer with my notebook catching up on my BBC obligations.That being said more change! I finally figured out Zen Cart, so for those who are currently struggling with this open source shopping cart/store design, there is light at the end of the tunnel. (Notice I did not write that I could offer help. I’m still learning, and I don’t want to mess anyone else up!!! LOL) I like the look of my new website – it looks clean and neat. Keep on Pushing and MOVE ON UP.....Reinvention in a time of Crisis

The more I push forward. The more obstacles come my way but you know what. You have to KEEP ON PUSHING and MOVE ON UP.On May 9 my 31 year old younger brother just died. with no warning or anything. This was the first blow of the summer until my grandmother died on July 9. So I have been in NY most of the month still pushing and moving.since I have 2 children I have no choice but to keep on pushing and moving. It is hard but ya got ta do what ya got ta do.After all of the drama I still rise. God is so good. I am still here. My business is still rolling. I got many things that are brewing and I am still moving.I also have to take time out for myself.Yesterday I had a birthday party to take my daughter to. A million errands to run prior to 1:30pm, I decided I had to get my bushy eyebrows attended to. I sat down and decided to take the time out for a pedi also. Even thought I felt guilty at the time, everything worked out and I was able to just sit down for a moment and do something for myself.I wonder did my grandmother ever have the chance to do anything for herself. At 91 I recall she worked until 80 something. Can you imagine that???? I know socially life had to be hard back then. I wonder if she was able to do the things that she wanted to do in life. I know of a couple of things she wanted to do but could not. She did keep pushing and to me life is the greatest gift. God granted her a long one and I hope he will do the same for me.So I will keep on pushing and moving on up.Thanks for listening. I pray that August will bring me more joy and peace.Valerie

My hair turned out nice. Thanks to Dudley's hair products. I am. however going to get it done by a professional stylist at the Dudley Salon here in Greensboro, NC.I spent time today for myself. I actually got my brows and toes done. I have got to use this Dudley's Brush on Brow to fill them in but other than that I got dressed up and went out with my 2 year old princess paying bills this morning.I deposited a check in my account and was shocked to see how much money I had saved up. I was so happy that I gave a homeless man some money and a bottle of cold water. You have to share your blessings.I took my daughter home and then went out shopping for myself and daughter. (My husband likes to shop for our son) So I had to get some sunglasses. The sales lady told me that the shades were on clearance. Going green has been in the news for quite some time. There are reusable bags for sale in many supermarkets and plastic bags from department stores offer ways to recycle said bag to keep from harming the environment. Bath and body care is going green also – if one takes a look at any shelf in the supermarket or the local discount department store, you will see various skin and body care products labeled “organic” or natural.In the general sense, being having “natural” on the label does not necessarily mean the product is good for your skin – it depends on what other additives are used. Remember, arsenic is natural! However, a body or skin care product created from natural ingredients is much better for your skin and well being than a product with an ingredient list full of unpronounceable words that is longer than your arm.Because I initially created a product for use by my 1 year old daughter, I took great care to use ingredients that were basically safe enough to ingest (excluding of course the fragrance).
