It Is, What It Is

One important thing that women should come to terms with is that there are some things we just can't control. Being able to distinguish between what we can and can't control is important when striving for a life of balance. When you understand this distinction and accept it then it keeps you from wasting time and energy.Life brings each of us a bunch of "stuff" to deal with. This is not to say that this "stuff" isn't upsetting or there isn't any need for concern. However, fretting over things that are out of our control is not productive. There have been many instances in my life that I would worry myself senseless over situations and people that I couldn't control. This was physically and mentally exhausting. My new strategy is to determine if I have ownership of the problem. If I don't, then I no longer focus my attention on it. In reality all I can control is my reaction and my attitude about the situation. That's it. Truthfully, that's enough. I can't surrender my power to something that doesn't belong to me. No longer do I get all bent out of shape. No longer to yell and scream. No longer do I let it ruin my day. I have learned to accept that "It Is What It Is!!"

The Hand You're Dealt

When I was growing up, I hated my name. It was different from everyone else’s and I used to get teased incessantly. I was called “Tangerine”, “Tangy” and my all time favorite, “Tangerinee-Weeney”! I wanted a more common name like “Jacqueline” or “Demetria” so that I could fit in and not stand out. Then I struggled with insecurities about having to wear glasses. I was kind of homely and my hair was nappy. As I became a teenager, I struggled with not having “good” hair, light skin or light brown eyes. I was skinny and my feet were big, and I began to seek approval in all the wrong ways. As an adult, I’ve questioned why I started losing my hair in my late twenties, why I struggled with infertility and most recently, why do I potentially have an eye disease that could threaten my vision in the future. The list of ‘why’s’ can be endless. It’s in times when I’m feeling the most vulnerable that I have to rest on what I know verses what I feel. What I know is that God knew me before I was formed in my mother’s womb and that He has a definite and specific plan for my life. That plan can only be fulfilled by me in my unique, pre-designed way. I know that nothing that occurs in my life is a surprise to God. He has already pre-destined my path and I just need to walk in it with confidence and ease.If I would have designed my life, it would have been a whole lot different, but not necessarily to my good. I think in life we can take a lesson from one of my favorite card games, spades. When the cards come around, you don’t know what you’re going to get, but a good player always knows how to make the most of the hand they’re dealt.

Divas,Today I celebrate my 50th Birthday. I am truly grateful that God has brought me through another year, safe and sound. There have been bumps and bruises along the way, as I am sure there will be many more to come. I have learned that amidst all of the cards, flowers, balloons and gifts, the lasting memories of this birthday come from the time I spent with my friends, family and one very special man.I continue to learn many things about myself, among them the joy of living my life according to my values and priorities. My girlfriend asked me today, when I woke up this morning and looked in the mirror, did I have any regrets of the things I had done within the last 72 hours (I am sure that she was referring to my belly piercing). I did not hesitate for a moment on the answer, It was a resounding "NO". A Tru Diva tries to live her life without regret. So publicly, I wanted to thank all of those people who made this Diva's 50th Birthday the best that I have ever, ever had.A Tru Diva knows how to celebrate each day and especially the day that her "Light" was born into the world.

~*The Steps of a GOOD MAN!!*~

The STEPS of a GOOD Man!Written by Dyanner BrownJune 2009

Anyone, who is anyone and of course who has the ability to operate and use their legs can walk. Walking is suppose to be very beneficial for one's well being physically and emotionally. However, its not always where you walk but how you walk that gets the benefit. This is the case of the footsteps of the good man. Anyone can all themselves a man. However we all know that there is a big difference between a man, a boy and a good man. A man can be a man based on his physicality, however mentally, spiritually and intellectually he may still be a boy, by way of immaturity.

But a good man, is a righteous man and a righteous man is one that is high on God's list of commodities.

A good and righteous has been made in the image of an Almighty God. He is honorable, kind, trustworthy and he takes care of business. When he is strong, he knows that it comes from God. He is God's silent warrior. He does not have do a lot of talking. Silence is his strength. He wears it well. He allows his walk to do all the talking for him. His walk with God that is. A righteous man is one to be honored and praised.

A good and righteous man, stands tall and courageous, with the full knowledge that he has been empowered by the one who has all power and all might. EVen in the face of danger, a good man, still stands strong.

El Elyon, the most High God. This man, bows to nothing, except when it is to His great and awesome God. On his knees praying and praising God is where he is going to be. He is hooked in to the right source of power, energized by the most High, the light of the world. He shines with God's annointing covering him and surrounded by the favor and love of God. God's mercy always carries him. God's omniscence is his true guide.

God carries the good man where he needs him to go. This man, is never ever left alone. God is with him; supports him, and keeps him. Yes, a righteous man is one that causes God to be delighted in all that he does, all that he says and all the plans that he makes, for he is always led by God, thus, he is always led to do the right things, be a part of the best things and live a life that is always a God thing! That's God's good and righteous man, created in the image of an Almighty God.

This man walks in authority and walks in the dominion in which God has given to him. He knows who he is in Christ. There is no insecurity in this man. This man is led by God, for he always is holding on daily, to God's unchanging hand. That's a good man. Brave he may be, yet he knows that it is not due to his own strengths talents, or abilities. It is all done through God, for he speaks his mantra throughout his day to remind him of all his God given ability, "I can do all things through Christ, that strengthens me."

This note is dedicated to every good and righteous man that we all have come in contact with or come to know and love. If you are a good and righteous man respond to this note and give God some praise, or if you know a good and righteous man, please tell the Lord, "Thank you!!" and then give a shout out to that brother, friend, husband, pastor or leader!!

A good man, finds favor with the Lord and he is worthy to be honored. God bless all the good men in our lives!! When they win, we win. When they shine, we shine with them and when they triumph, so do we. Always thank God for the good men that we know, we love and all those that we come in contact with and/or see. God's good man, lives a life that honors God, honors his family and always gives God all of the glory!

This is what the Lord has to say about His good men!!"The steps (footsteps, walk, paths, plans, works, talents, projects, purpose, deeds, thoughts, mindset, attitudes, ways, emotions, desires, hopes, faith) of a good (righteous, honorable, obedient, disciplined, courageous, decent, trustworthy, kind, holy) man (man that is matured in spirit, body and soul:mind, emotions, intellect) are ordered (established, set apart, set in motion, directed, requested, commanded, willed, spoken, cast, fastened, manifested) by (through, in association with, in connection with, in the possession and ownership of) the Lord (Adonai, El Elyon, ElShadai: The Lord our God, The Most High God, The Most Sufficient ONE), and HE (The Lord God) delights (takes great pleasure, is honored, is glorified, is magnified, is made happy) in all his (this man's, the good man's) ways (walk, paths, plans, works, talents, projects, purpose, deeds, thoughts, mindset, attitudes, emotions, desires, hopes, faith, footsteps, steps).."So to every good man, I say, keep on walking and placing your feet in the place where God places your feet, in the footsteps of Jesus. Though it is not easy and often feels less rewarded, your reward and crown is great. You my brother, friend, pastor, elder, leader are chosen by God to walk in divine favor, honor and praise, as a king, as an heir of God and as an Abassador of Christ. Today, walk in your divine dominion and honor. Walk in your savy. Walk in your royal status and be the kings that God Called you to be today and always. Amen. Agape Always and a Day!

PS: To all Dad's:Happy Father's Day! to all the Good and Righteous men that continue to follow after and walk in the steps of an Almighty God I hope your Father's Day was filled with blessings from the most High God! IF you are not a dad.. I hope your day and/or your dad's day was a memorable one. To everyone else.. Be blessed and don't forget to honor God in all that you do.. and God will always delight in all that you do and He will most certainly honor and bless you!! !To all my sisters: speak the word of God over the men in your life, as if it already were and watch God's word manifest His promises! Speak life into the lives of the men in your life! Be a woman for life.. A worshiper for life.. a sister for life..

"Choose life that you and your seed [your offspring, children, productivity, fruit, fruitfulness, works, deeds, projects, accomplishments, blessings, successes, prosperity] may live [grow, mature, develop, expand, increase, progress and succeed."..."Speak those things that be not, as though they already were.""Decree a thing, and it shall be established."And then beloved, just rejoice, for God carefully watches over His word, to always perform, do, and complete what his word has been sent out to do and accomplish. God's word never ever will return to Him void, unaccomplished, incomplete or undone.

The Power Is In The Purse

Posted by: Walethia AquilTHE POWER’S IN THE PURSENew book explores the consumer influence of minority womenDid you know that 88% of the absolute growth in the U.S. female population from 2000 to 2007 was attributable to women of color, or that minority women comprise a buying power of almost $1 trillion? The significance of those facts to marketers and advertisers is explored in The 85% Niche: The Power of Women of All Colors--Latina, Black, Asian (Paramount Books $29.99 by Miriam Muley, a book that suggests that women of color can no longer be considered a minority.Muley say the buying power of women of color will increase to $1.2 trillion by 2010.“Our spending power is comparable in size to the GDP of South Africa, Saudi Arabia and Switzerland combined.” she adds, “ranking women of color the 10th largest global economy.“With more than $524 billion in economic buying power in 2007, black women are clearly in control of the pocketbook and the decision s in the family.”For more information, visit www.8.5 percentniche.comBlack Enterprise January 2009: Kingsley Kanu Jr.

4 Factors for Building a Loyal Customer Base

Do you have a specific plan for building customer loyalty? When you consider the high cost of landing new customers versus the high profitability of a loyal customer base, you might want to reflect upon your current business strategy. Streetwise Business Tips offers the following advice along with the four factors that will greatly affect your ability to build a loyal customer base:1. Products that are highly differentiated from those of the competition.2. Higher-end products where price is not the primary buying factor.3. Products with a high service component.4. Multiple products for the same customer.Market To Your Own Customers! Are there additional products or services you can sell your customers? Keep all the information you can on your customers and don't hesitate to ask for the next sale. When you buy a new car, many dealers will within minutes try to sell you an extended warranty or an alarm system. It's often a very easy sale and costs the dealer almost nothing to make.Use Complaints To Build Business! When customers aren't happy with your business they usually won't complain to you - instead, they'll probably complain to just about everyone else they know - and take their business to your competition next time. That's why an increasing number of businesses are making follow-up calls or mailing satisfaction questionnaires after the sale is made. They find that if they promptly follow up and resolve a customer's complaint, the customer might be even more likely to do business than the average customer who didn't have a complaint. In many business situations, the customer will have many more interactions after the sale with technical, service, or customer support people than they did with the sales people. So if you're serious about retaining customers or getting referrals, these interactions are the ones that are really going to matter. They should be handled with the same attention and focus that sales calls get because in a way they are sales calls for repeat business.Reach Out To Your Customers!Contact with current customers is a good way to build their loyalty. The more the customer sees someone from your firm, the more likely you'll get the next order. Send holiday greeting cards, see them at trade shows, call or stop by to make sure everything's okay.Send a simple newsletter to your customers-tell them about the great things that are happening at your firm and include some useful information for them. Send them copies of any media clippings about your firm. Invite them to free seminars. The more they know about you, the more they see you as someone out to help them, the more they know about your accomplishments-the more loyal a customer they will be.--Source: Melissa Data News

If you thought using Twitter was only for social networking, think again. People are starting to tap in to the concept of making money with their Twitter website. You can make money with Twitter, but there are certain things you have to do in order to make a profit.Of course, you must have a Twitter account in order to make money with Twitter. Signing up for a Twitter account does not cost you anything. When you get your Twitter site set up, you will want to start posting tweets to your site. Posting tweets will help you get followers. When followers tweet posts to you, you should respond in kind.It is not necessary to have a gigantic following in order to make money with Twitter. It’s better to have followers that have the same interests than hundreds of followers that are not interested in cultivating a relationship with you on your Twitter site. You don’t want to be too quick about promoting things in the very beginning. It’s better to get to know the followers on your site. You should want to establish a trust with them. They should also want to establish a trust with you. When it’s time for you to make money with Twitter, it will be easier for you because the relationship has been established. When you are ready to make money with Twitter, don’t blatantly promote your products or services. Some people could think that you are trying to spam them. It’s not a good idea to mention your product to your followers every time you send a tweet. However, when the time is right, here are some ways that you can make money with Twitter:• Product recommendation – You could write a recommendation of a product to your followers. Encourage them to check it out and take action. It’s a good idea if you actually tried out the product yourself before you recommend it to them. It will make you the expert on it, and they will be more inclined to purchase.• Affiliate marketing – If you are recommending a product on behalf of someone else, you can place your affiliate link in your tweet post.• Your product – You can promote your own product and sell it from your sales page.Any of these ideas are ways that you can make money from Twitter. The key to doing it is not to constantly throw it in their face every time you tweet. Your followers will be turned off because they will start thinking that your main motive for being on Twitter is to sell your product. The easier way to lead up to this is to provide quality and meaningful content to your followers.

Why you should take a long look at your website.

Your website is the face of your business. If the appearance of your website looks like no effort was put into building it you can kiss your potential customers good bye. My biggest pet peeve is a link that goes nowhere. When customers click on a link and the page doesn’t exist or there are no products to purchase you could possibly lose that customer.Does your website look like a bad used sales car dealer?• By this I mean flashy and one big sells pitch. No one wants to feel like they are being forced to buy your product. You must build trust with your customers first before they will buy from you. It normally takes a customer 5-7 times to see your website before purchasing from you.Does your web page take forever to load?• If it does you better find away to make your web page load quickly. The maximum should be 30-40 seconds and while your web page is loading your top page should load within 5 seconds and it better be interesting. You can lose any potential customers who are ready to buy your product. Are you tracking your visitors?• If you are not tracking how your visitors found your website then close your doors. You are wasting time and money. How do you know what advertisements are working, where you should spend your money & what keywords are used to find your website. Before you promote your website to the world ask others for their opinion.Bridget Harriswww.9-5freedom.comDon’t be a slave to the clock and spend more time with the ones your love.
