Doing Big Business In A Small Business World:

In my 25 years of working with both small and large companies I have seen it all the good, the bad and the ugly. People often ask why their business can't seem to launch while others thrive? The answer is very simple. Think Big!!! In a small way. How? I am going to give you a few tips that every business owner should want to know.

The most over looked and underrated value of doing business comes in two-folds, the first is to find your business niche...If you find a niche for your brand of business, I can assure you that success is not too far away. The next is research of your prospects habits, this can not be over looked nor taken for granted. Example: How can a wine maker not know it's fruits or not knowing the ingredients and the process of making wine? The same is for a business owner.

Big companies spend tons of money to pay researchers to understand the habits of their potential clients and let me tell you that there would be no detail missed. Big companies know your habits regarding family, entertainment, spending habits and how to feed your unconscious behavior. This is a common fact for any business. Follow these steps you and your business will have a great chance of surviving, if not you are killing your business before it has a chance to live.

You don't need to spend money to get this valuable information there are plenty of free information over the Internet regarding people spending habits and how to reach them. Search for the unconscious consumer, the psychology of selling and how to get people to buy from you. There are no great secrets to success, it is basic knowledge to understand what it takes to run a business.

Advertising is a must no matter what portals you are using. Any form of advertising is better than none. I will be giving more tips to assist you with your business needs and will ask that you all share with each other in regards to buying from one another and knowledge. Advertise with LaShanda Henry and let her mentor you and I promise I will do the same as well. Together we can do amazing things divided we fail. Jay W.Sumlin

Reflecting on the past can work in any relationship whether personal or business when situations which call for a crucial decision come up. If you haven’t had a similar experience, try being positive first. It could save you time, money and effort, and a good friend or business associate. A negative response may cause you to have to start all over and lose something or someone very valuable to your life. The following story is a good example of my theory.

Yesterday I was visiting my boyfriend (yes, I have a boyfriend at my age, but that’s for another discussion), and he said something that “hurt my feelings,” and for a moment I froze. I say “hurt my feelings,” although no one can “hurt” your feelings. They are your feelings and you alone control how you feel. He could only direct my positive or negative response, which I also still control.

Anyway, the super-sensitive, low self-esteem, jealous, ejective Paris pulled her head in like a turtle and began to sulk. That was my first reaction and the old me would have been plotting ways in her head to break away from the relationship. She would have become angry and mean, and probably would have said some rather nasty and unladylike things involving body parts and personality traits.

But thank God I remembered a very similar situation from over 30 yeas ago in which the man wasn’t trying to hurt my feelings. He was sharing a decision he had made and an action he had taken which put me at the front of the line. (Ladies, there’s always a line, whether in fact or in fiction (such as the Playboy Channel). So, being the new me, my response became positive, and worked to draw me closer to him rather than to “throw the baby out with the bath water.”

I would have preferred not to know about his actions, but the fact that he was willing to share them with me let me see that he trusts me enough to tell me something which could have caused a very bad reaction. I appreciated his trust, which deepened my feelings.

If I had not have had that past experience, and recalled it, I would have made a very bad current mistake. My wish for you is to live life, love deeply, and laugh often.

Support, Fair Share and Why Not

I'm 52 years old and started Trent's Solutions part-time 8 years ago. There has been some success and some disappointments. One of my biggest success is providing quality accessories to individuals to enhance their personal styles while maintining a budget. Another successs is building realtionships, which allows my clients to trust my judgement on selecting merchandise for them. I hand select all my merchandise so I can check the quality of the product.

Some sisters still questions; will the product last forever? Can they get a discount because they are a sister?

When they shop at retail stores, do they question the sales person about the product lasting a lifetime or can they get a discount? Why not support and show the same level of respect to a sister that is working hard to maintain a business or service? Why not allow us to have a fair share of the open market? Why not support each other if they have what you are looking for. At the same time, it's important that we show our customers respect, not come off what a negative attitude if they do not make a purchase. We should always provide our customers/clients with an exceptional product & attitude.

How many of you take time for YOURSELF? I have watched enough Oprah shows to know that if you don't take care of yourself no one else will. You will be unhappy, grumpy, and your friends will be begging you to see a shrink. If anyone knows it's me. A child with autism, and epilepsy; family dysfunction, unsuccesful relationships, death of close friends and family members, etc...I don't feel like a victim, so don't go poor Rierie, just sharing!!! I used to run on empty, out of gas; that was my normalcy so to speak, then one day I crashed. I wanted to crawl into a whole and never come out. God's grace saved me. There are a few things that I cannot live without nowadays. I try to feed my mind, my body, my spirit, as much as I can; it's all connected, so why not take care of the whole package!!!

The Mind
6a00cdf39c677acb8f00d4143c67bc3c7f-500pi.jpgWhewwww, "she" can chatter all day long; from what you need to do right now, what you didn't do yesterday, how many things you have to get done nowwww. "She" will keep you up at night, and before you know it, you are on Ambien. So I brain drain.
-Brain drain: write down a list of everything you need to do on a notepad, from grocery store to going to the bank to chaperoning your kids next field trip.
-Stop being negative; I am sure you already know this, whatever you focus on expands, if you focus on negativity, what's wrong in your life, you will get more of it.
-Let your mind float freely. Imagine that you have no limitations. Imagine that you have all the time, money, resources, intelligence, education, experience and all the contacts in the world. Imagine that you could do, be or have anything in your life. What if you had no fear of failure at all?
-Your most important goals/intentions must be YOURS. Not your spouse's, your child's, your employer's, your mother's, your sister's....
-Write your intentions in positive terms, avoid saying "I will not be. Your subconscious mind is very specific and it doesn't judge, it will attract like a magnet whatever you focus on.
If you've never read 'The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind", pick up a copy, a great book....I have 2 copies, dog-eared to the 10th power lol.

The Body
If you are not kind to it now, it will be hostile to you later.
HUK+Cover-1.png
-Don't diet, diets make you cranky, eat whole foods; diet=die, I want to live lol. I am sure you do too. God gave us whole foods for a reason, ditch those frozen meals, canned goods, fat free this and that. Eat grass fed beef, organic chicken, wild caught fishes; not farm-raised, organic fruits, and veggies. Use olive oil, and coconut oil. Do your research on canola oil, and soy (disturbing). Cut out sugar, drink more water. I can't get down with eggs beaters in a carton box, come on now.....you get the jist. Check out this book, "Healthy Urban Kitchen", the author, Antonio is on to something....
-Move it; you don't have to be a slave to the treadmill, hike, take a walk with your dog, take your kids or grandkids to the park and become one of them, salsa dance (my faaaavorite woo hoo).
Check out these two amazing salsa teachers; they offer classes that will have you sweating and cheering; Myriam Soavinzara and "Tony "El Pana". You will be sweating to a slimmer you while having fun...
-Treat yourself to a massage, mani-pedi, get a facial, plan a get away, put on lipgloss, reconnect with a long time friend over a great glass of wine, take on golf.... :-)

The Spirit
We are spiritual beings having a human experience, that's what I believe, we are more than this body. Believe in a Higher Power, whatever it may be for you, I am a God fanatic, and lover ♡
-Prayers work, enough said.
Getting in the Gap: Making Conscious Contact with God Through Meditation (Book with CD)-Meditate, "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). Look up Japa meditation if you are having a hard time shutting down your mind. It's helped me a lot. You can check out Dr. Wayne Dyer's book "Getting in the gap".
-Surrender, this is now a daily practice of mine, it has truly become a habit. To surrender means to yield, to relinquish control over. When we surrender to God, we are simply acknowledging that what we "own" actually belongs to Him. He is the giver of all good things. By surrendering to God, we admit that He is ultimately in control of everything, including our present circumstances. Let Go, let God.
-Forgive someone; Love someone; Compliment someone and mean it, say Thank You.
-Be grateful; there are thousands of things to be grateful for on a regular basis, no matter how difficult things may seem. "When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change". Dr. Wayne Dyer

LIFE IS A GAME....PLAY IT....LIVE YOUR PASSION, IT'S UP TO YOU!!!!!

These are the few things I do to keep me sane, what about you? What do you do to keep your sanity? What do you do to keep a healthy mind, body, and spirit?

If there are any females that are in a relationship that they feel they no longer want to be in (for whatever reason), if you just ended a relationship and don't know why it didn't last or if you are looking to get a relationship that will last, then Wife Material is a book you must read.

This book will deal with so many issues that will open your eyes to why things have happened and are still happening in your in life that has caused relationship after relationship to fail.

Now if you have the perfect relationship then you don't need the book, but if you have a friend or loved one who may be experiencing trouble in their relationship, then tell them about this book or get it for them as a gift.

Today my husband and I are celebrating 16 years of marriage. No, it was not always easy, but it is possible and it is worth it.

Music History in the making

Musical History in the making!

every now and then the right circumstances emerge and a fruitful environment is created that allows a "new music" to be born. Bach wouldn't been able to realize his musical vision without the financial support of the church that enabled him to sit down and write all his wonderful music. Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie among others would not have been able to create "be-bob" without clubs like Mintons Playhouse giving them a platform to meet after hours and jam without havin' to compromise their playing. the examples are too many to list here but I think you get the idea.

Growing up in Sao Paulo, Brazil and touring the world, first as a dancer and later as a singer, I began writing songs that reflected my Afro-Brazilian roots but also reflected my influences from around the world.

In the mean time, last year drummer Henning Stumm began to get together with two friends, guitarist Billy Titus and bassist Glenn Palermo, that shared a similiar interest of taking different styles of music from around the world and blend them together to a colorful and vibrant sound. They began to write grooves that provided foundation to new songs, but they still wanted to add vocals to their songs.

In December last year (2009) I met Henning Stumm on a gig with jazz-pianist Patrick Poladian in New York City. We soon realized that we share a similar musical vision so we decided to join forces.

We began rehearsing and finalizing those songs. but now we still needed a place to perform to present it to the public and get some feed-back.

We found such a place in Giovanna's Restaurant on the upper east side in New York City, a beautiful place with great food. the owner Divino extended his place to us to perform there every thursday night and so a new chapter in our musical history can begin.

I'm really excited about this opportunity for us and are confident that this will develope into something very special.

I hope that this will find your interest and arouse your curiousity and if your're ever in New York City, you will find your way there to become part of "musical history in the making"

Eliana Marcia & Banda Azul live
every Thursday 7pm - 11pm
Giovanna's Restaurant
1567 Lexington Ave/E 100th Street
New York City NY 10029

Does your career in this publishing biz stump you sometimes? So much information and not sure what to do next? Need some help?

Suppose you could sit down with the most successful people in your field andjust talk with them to learn what they know.

Well, here is the deal. YOU can learn what they know - and you can probably do it forlittle or no cost! You just have to get your head in the game (quitfocusing on only YOU), be observant, vigilant, coach-able andappreciative.

If you are a novice wanting to learn the book industry or an author needing to learn how to market books better or abusiness/ministry leaders looking to learn a new skill - you can get theinformation you need - sometimes for free - by following the leaders.

I mean really becoming a "student" of the person. That means becoming adisciple and real follower who is disciplined to learn, listen, studyand DO!

It's amazing to me to see folks struggling to do something and there are mentors online all around. In the age of the internet, acouple of clicks on Google and you can find blogs, books, podcasts, webinars and websites or the some of the best and brightest minds on theplanet.

But don't just find their info - and email them. That's the lazy way! That's the way to be put in the spam and "blocked" folderfor real.

So, what do you do once you find a person you feel is the next link in your destiny?

Follow them religiously. Not stalk but become a protege by doing the following things:

1. Be social! Be their Facebook friend, join their groups or be on theirfan pages every day! Read their updates and comment on their statuses.

It's easy to get overwhelmed from the 400 million folks online but zone inon your "fav five" or "top ten." The folks you need to learn from, folksyou admire, model and want to know how they think, operate and livetheir lives. Now, don't copy. And don't "hate on" them. A protegeappreciates a mentor. Learn to give accolades and tell others of thewonderful info you're getting from your online mentor! Spread the loveand it will come back to you!

Be part of every social site where they are - if they are on Twitter, you follow them on Twitter andretweet their tweets. If they are on Facebook or Twitter, make sure youget the SMS updates to your phone. Pick up clues and run with it.

2. Blog. This is the easiest way to really learn from your mentorand get noticed by them fast. Because this is their weblog or onlinediary, you know what they're thinking, doing, working on and can sensethe direction their business is going. Read all their old blog posts.Become a student! Do you homework. Also, click all the buttons and linkson their blog and find out what they're into and how you can add thosesame buttons, widgets or links to your own blog. But the main thing, isto comment on their posts! Be social when social networking!

3. Email. Of course you have subscribed to their email list and readevery email (even if they send something out every day), right? This isthe secret. The mentor's emails are the keys to your next level. Whenyour mentor sends an email to his/her list, they are talking to YOU.

So, pay attention - they would not send a frivolous email, they are a Proremember? That's why you are following them and NOT other way around.

Here's what you can find out from reading, saving and keep up with your onlinementor's emails:

1. Their upcoming events, teleseminars, recent blog posts or media exposure
2. Their style, wording of each email - so you can benchmark youremail campaigns.
3. Their pattern for doing things. What days to they send emails, what times?
4. Their "hot buttons" and what is on the cutting edge in theindustry

If they send a lot of emails, learn to manage it. You want to learn from them? Deal with it. Put the emails in a folder onyour computer desktop or print them out and put in a binder so you canread during your lunch hours - whatever it takes to be a good studentand stay on top of their information - do it!

If the information is coming fast and furious, maybe you're not ready for the level thatyou think you are. Think about it. If you can't read emails from yourmentor, then you probably wouldn't be able to keep up with their pacethey are on. You're just reading - they're doing the writing. Anyway, why would you want to follow an online mentor if their pace was slowerthan yours?) So, suck it up and get organized.

4. Finally, and most important - appreciate and acknowledge your online mentor/coach.This is THE KEY to your success. I find that most people don't do thisand consequently they don't get the results they're looking for or theFAVOR. Most folks are so self-absorbed that they rarely take time to bekind to others. It is great to have focus, but you need a team to makethe dream work.

And a day of favor is worth more than years of labor - any day! So, want to learn from those on the next level? Learnto:

1. Listen. Be observant. Be vigilant.
2. Read. Scan. Speed read. Print and save information.
3. Be curious. Click all the buttons! Do what they do. Model themonline
4. Thank the mentor/coach. Let them know you are watching them andyou appreciate them. Never hate on your help. Don't be a rival friend. You must learn to get rid of jealous feelings and not be envious. How?

By showing gratitude. This is CRITICAL to getting over envy and gettingfavor! Sounds easy? It is. Do people do these things consistently? Only arare few who are ready to get in the game and really win!

Ok Now that you have written your positive, visionary, dream, goals list and detroyed the negative list take a moment to reflect on the things you already have in your life that currently bring joy to you. The things you should reflect on are things that are not on your list, this thought process is strictly related to what you already have that you are grateful for.

Gratitude is essential in the process of having a positive mindset about your vision, dreams, goals. Showing or having an attitude of gratitude allows you to have a balance in your mindset regarding reflecting upon what you have, but also allows you to "see" the tools you currently have to help your vision come to pass. For instance, begin to become grateful for things that you may not have even thought of as an option to be grateful for. Most of the time when people reflect on what they are grateful for it's usually things that are essentially priceless like life, your children, your husband/wife, pets, etc. However, also consider being grateful for other things as well like your home, transportation, internet access, a computer, a job, your business, financial resources, etc. Now I know you may be thinking, "but those things are tangible and monetary?," and I'll say yes they are, but sometimes we can be "ungrateful" for those things. Here's what I mean, because we already "have" those things we neglect to reflect on what life would be like if we didn't have a car, a home to live in, clothing, shoes, a computer, internet access, a job and we can easily take those things for granted and not be faithful over them. Just like the bible says be faithful over the little things (few things) and I will make you ruler over much, how do you expect to obtain more or be blessed with more if you are not grateful for or do not take care of what you have now?

So as you reflect on your vision/goal list that you already created, also take time to show gratitude for what you already have.

Bring more Joy into your life and the life of others....

Ethical Issues In Management

Ethical Issues In Management

Diversity in management has made strides in ensuring that every person is treated in the same matter. The diversity of employees who bring a certain skill levels to the organization is critical for overall organizational success. The legal and social responsibility of organizations have a direct connection in how unethical behaviors will be addressed. The social norms will not always meet the need in treating everyone the same unless management utilize basic principles in effective employee relations.

In many was diversity is considered to be inclusive of everyone. In many ways, diversity initiatives complement non-discrimination compliance programs by creating the workplace environment and organizational culture for making differences work.

“Diversity is about learning from others who are not the same, about dignity and respect for all, and about creating workplace environments and practices that encourage learning from others and capture the advantage of diverse perspectives”.(Cornell University, 2009)

“If diversity is well managed, it can enhance performance and the bottom line. If it is not well managed, it can be a drag on performance and adversely affect the bottom line. Additionally, there are important interconnections between types of diversity, conflict, work environment, business strategy and HR practices”. (Workplace Diversity, 2001)

Guest Blogging: 5 Tips for Generating Results

Guest blogging is the new–or not so new article marketing. The practice of bloggers inviting other bloggers to publish on their blog has been going on since blogging began, but now this somewhat quietly kept practice is becoming more and more popular. If you are an online freelance writer you’re always looking for ways to get more exposure for your writing to attract more clients. The occasional guest blog posting gig can get you exposure with a new audience, confirms your expert status and attracts fresh traffic to your blog.

As bloggers see the fabulous results that they can gain from both guest blogging on other blogs and hosting guests on their blogs, they are engaging in the practice more and more. In this article I want to share five simple tips for getting yourfeet wet so to speak as a guest blogger:

1. Choosing the right blogs
Your goal as a guest blogger is to find a new audience for your writing, to get wider exposure and to attract fresh traffic back to your blog. So, it makes sense to choose blogs that focus on keywords similar to yours, within the same industry and a similar compatible niche.

Choose blogs that are more established and higher ranked than yours for the biggest bang for your time, but don’t neglect those up-and-coming blogs with a growing, loyal following.

Spend the time to regularly visit the blogs in your niche that you would like to guest post for. Make note of their idiosyncrasies, practices and biases. Take notes and keep these issues in mind when you are writing your post so that you don’t slip up and offend your host.

2. Making contact with the author

Compose a simple email to the blog owner explaining that you are offering to do a guest blog post for them. If this is your first contact with this blogger, briefly explain your blog’s topic and include a link.

Let the blogger know what you like about their blog and how your writing will fit in with their blogging style and topic.

3. Establishing a clear, mutually beneficial arrangement

Guest blog posting is a win-win for the guest blogger and the host blogger. The guest blogger gets exposure to a fresh audience, a nice boost in traffic back to their blog and more favorable search engine ranking from the highly relevant link.

The blog host wins because they get some fresh, relevant content that provides something new for their readership, and buys them a bit of time to do other things. But the blog readers also benefit because they
gain exposure to a new writer and a different look at the topic.

Be sure to spell out the terms of the arrangement so that both parties are clear on things like the approximate word count of the post, publication date, number and types of links, ownership of the content, etc.

4. Coming up with the right content for the blog
Refer to the notes you took when you were choosing blogs to guest post on, and write from the perspective of someone who is familiar with the audience. Read through recent posts to get ideas for filling in and
rounding out the blogger’s approach to the topic. Ask the blog host if there is a particular topic they would like for you to cover.

Be sure to always present your best work when guest posting. Do your research, format the post carefully and ask for someone to proofread it for you before you submit it.

5. The importance of follow up
After your post has been published, be sure to check back and respond to the comments. This is a great opportunity to forge a real relationship with another blogger and their readers, so don’t overlook this important
part of the arrangement.

Announcing Your Engagement

164537.jpg

Besides shouting from the rooftops, “We’re engaged!” and spreading the news of your engagement by word of mouth, you have a couple of other options when it comes to announcing your engagement. You can mail formal announcements to your friends and family or you can publish an announcement in your local and hometown newspapers.

Mailing Announcements – To create your announcement contact your local stationary store or an online retailer and have your announcement typeset and printed. You can also design your own announcements using a site like Vistaprint When designing your own announcement you will have the flexibility to choose the look and feel that best suits you as a couple. Keep in mind this will be your guests’ first preview into your wedding. The announcement should convey the overall tone and formality you think you’ll want for your event.

Newspaper Announcements - Call the publication(s) where you want your announcement to appear and speak to the editor in charge and find out the following:
§ The fee for publishing your announcement
§ Are there any guidelines or a standard form you must use?
§Do they accept pictures as part of the announcement?

How will you spread the news of your engagement? Answer our poll here.

It's bigger than the Bodymagic

For most people when you same the name Ardyss International they think of the Bodymagic reshaping garment. As wonderful as the garment is in reshaping and changing womens lives there is a bigger picture to be seen. Ardyss actually has 3 product lines and the best by far is there 100% natural nutritional line which is followed by the reshaping line of garments and their skin care line. The nutrional line helping people to retake control of their health and do things in a more proactive rather than reactive manor. By proactive I mean that if you are suppling your body with the proper nutrients it needs on a daily basis then it is less likely to break down. Let's look at the body as an automobile for just a moment. With a car if you don't perform the proper maintenence schedule for upkeep your car is going to stop working properly. This of course requires you to have to take it to a mechanic to fix. The same is true with your body if you don't maintain it then an illness may occur which requires a doctors visit and you to possibly be put on medications. So by taking care of yourself upfront you can lessen the chance of having to deal with preventable issues later. Kinda like the old saying "an apple a day keeps the doctor away." I'll be posting more on some of the various supplements and their benefits at a later time.
