10744065068?profile=originalChoosing the right business name is the good way to start your business. In a world where there are many variations of names, prose, and business services it is important to make sure you find a name that is unique to you and your business to brand as your own.

Perhaps your business is in its inception phase, meaning while in this stage, you are still working on finalizing some ideas. This is the process of visualizing, planning, and development of the type of business you want. It is also the time in which you are making decision on the direction you plan for the branding of your business. By the end of this phase, the business should have at least a tentative name. There is no rule that sets this into stone; however, as a business owner destined for more day-to-day decision making to come, you want to at least complete this portion of your process.

In this article, we will be performing a run through of some suggested ideas to use when choosing a name for your business. Choosing the right name from the start is important, because once the name goes public, it may be difficult to go back and change it later. We have provided some simple suggestions that have been tested and learned through experience.

There's no requirement that says you have to choose a name that seems common or even make sense to others. Take a chance. Select some random business names for testing and trial runs. Although were going random, we also want to make sure, the business name signifies the nature of your work or the specific line of business you are catering to. Names that give no clear reference as to the type of business or nature of the work are often overlooked. Unidentifiable business names take time and research to figure the nature of the business. Be considerate and do the work for them by making the meaning of the business obvious within the name. For example, Joe Smith, LLC, tells us nothing about the business or what it is they do and risk potential customers not taking the time to find out. Same with promoting your business online, not only should the name be original, it should provide some indication as to the nature of the business. Do choose a clever name. People like thoughts that trigger ingenuity.

Ain't Nothing Like A Bubble Bath!

10744064477?profile=originalThe bath is not just the place where we clean ourselves. It is also where many of us relax…I know I do! And one of the best ways to relax is to take a bubble bath.

Included in this article is a very easy bubble bath recipe. Enjoy!

However, if you want to really be assured of taking a soothing bath free of harmful ingredients, the best things you can do is to create your own bubble bath. A bubble bath can help enhance your skin as well as uplift and rejuvenate your mind and spirit.

When you create your own bubble bath you know that you are taking better care of your body because you are not using the chemicals that can be found in other bathing products.

Additionally, you know that your concoction is fresh and that it hasn’t sat for who knows how long on some shelf somewhere! And when you create your own bubble bath, you naturally learn about the different essential oils and products that can help you better care for your body in and out of the bath.

Essential Oils

One of the main ingredients in a handmade bubble bath is an essential oil of some sort. There are many oils that have many different purposes. There is no need to add more than a few drops to your bubble bath, as all oils are rather potent.

Allowing your body to relax is part of taking proper care of the body. The bath is a perfect time to do this, and many people bring books with them to better help them relax during bath time. The right essential oils can contribute to your relaxation as well.

Or you might select oils for the way they smell. You can choose a scent that you like best from among oils like Lavender, Rosewood, Sandalwood, and Chamomile. These all are considered soothing. Even though essential oils are natural some basic precautions need to be taken. Check with the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy to find out more about essential oil safety precautions.

It is also important that your body feel energized at times and uplifted. This contributes to mental health and well being as well. Some of the essential oils that can help you with this care of the body are Eucalyptus, Spearmint, Peppermint, and lemon oil. Additionally, Eucalyptus can help your body fight cold symptoms, as it reduces congestion. Many people who create their own bubble baths actually make one for relaxing and one for revitalizing, in order to have what the body needs on hand.

Skin Care

Other oils are especially good at softening the skin. The skin is the largest organ in the body, and taking care of the skin is important. Almond oil and coconut oil are both excellent skin care choices. Almond oil has almost no smell to it, so it does not conflict with any oil you add for scenting purposes. Coconut oil has a nutty and floral fragrance which can help you feel as though you are in an exotic garden.

However, it is possible to find scents that compliment the coconut oil and provide other effects. In fact, many handmade bubble bath recipes call for the combination of different oils for better effect.

Bubble Bath Ingredients

In addition to oils, there are other ingredients that are necessary to make handmade bubble bath. Distilled water, castille soap and liquid glycerin are ingredients found easily and relatively inexpensively. They are necessary to help create the bubbles, add a liquid form to the bubble bath and to provide a solution for mixing. None of these substances is generally harmful, and they add a great deal to the bubble bath mixture, as they are clean and can be used to clean the body as well as to create bubbles to sit in. Below is an easy recipe for creating your handmade bubble bath.

Recipe

This bubble bath has lavender and patchouli oils to relax you before bedtime. Use soft music and lighted candles in your bathroom for a soothing effect.

  • 6 drops lavender oil
  • 3 drops sandalwood oil
  • 2oz distilled water
  • 4oz liquid castille soap. (4 oz. Bar)
  • 2oz liquid glycerin

Directions: mix the water, soap and glycerin together and stir. Now add your essential oils to the mixture.
It is easy to improve the care your body gets during a bath when you create your own bubble bath to help you better cope with the general stresses of life.

Question: What other things do you do to help relieve stress?

Imagine being sound asleep and dreaming your piggy bank or shall we say, merchant account, is being filled to the brim with cash? So, you wake up, roll out of bed, fix a cup of coffee, check your email and notice several new transactions from your merchant. You realize it was not a dream after all! Cha-ching, you’ve created a marketing strategy to earn passive income continuously! In fact, many savvy entrepreneurs are creating online business models using the internet and social media to market 24/7. They are literally turning on their computers every morning and are greeted with multiple sales.

So how can you create a marketing strategy that works even when you’ve stepped away to go golfing, attend your son’s baseball game, on vacation or sleeping? Here are 5 inexpensive marketing strategies to make money 365 days per year.

Launch a Business Blog

As an entrepreneur, it makes good business sense to establish a blog. Once you decide to become a blogger, it is imperative to gain exposure. By doing so, will build your subscriber base and revenue. Here are 3 tips to automate your blog:

Blog Directories:

Blog links are vital by which search engines establish who, what and why of your blog and ultimately how you are rank in search results. Subscribing to blog directories will help in link building. Many bloggers list their articles in blog directories. There are literally hundreds of them, but here are a few that we am familiar with:
  • Blogarama is a categorized directory of blogs and journals. www.blogarama.com
  • iBlog Business Directory is a blogging portal featuring the best blogs and news in the
  • Business blogoshpere. They use strict editorial guidelines ensure the integrity of its growing collection of business bloggers and related business topical information. http://www.iblogbusiness.com
  • Technorati is a real-time search engine for blogs that tracks what is current and popular. It offers the ability to search blog postings using a tag library, list your blog and find out who's linking to it and from where. http://technorati.com
AD-vertising:
  • Pay-per-action: a blogger can earn money from the advertiser each time visitor clicks on the ad and performs an action such as making a purchase.
  • Pay-per-click: a blogger is paid by the advertiser each time visitor clicks on the advertiser's ad.
  • Pay-per-impression: a blogger is paid by advertiser each time the ad appears on the blog's page.
Affiliate Ads

Many bloggers use affiliate ads to provide products to customers. Bloggers are compensated when purchases are made. The key is to offer products that compliment your business. For example, a benefit to members of National Association of Women on the Rise is access to business resources, such as:
  • Aweber: an auto responder service provider
  • BizFilings: help small business owners to form corporation, limited liability company (LLC) or other business structure; with a full range of business filing and compliance products and tools.
  • 1Shopping Cart: an automated shopping cart solution to manage all aspects of an eCommerce business - reducing operational costs and increasing efficiency.
Two popular affiliate advertising programs:
  • Amazon Associates: allows business owners to make money selling affiliate products.
  • eBay Affiliates: pays Internet publishers, Web masters, online partners, and eBay sellers to drive new users and sales to eBay.
Write an E-book

Writing and selling e-books are big business! This is due to the popularity of the internet and digital products. Many entrepreneurs use this technique to earn passive income. You don’t have to be an expert in writing e-books, merely, having a message that appeals to your audience. Consider writing a ‘how to’ on a subject that you are an authority on. The possibilities are endless! In addition to making money while you sleep, you will:
  • Establish expert status within your industry
  • Fulfill the need of impulse visitors of your website
  • Earn additional income by revising as your industry changes, and offering your new editions to your current and future audience
Create a Membership Association

Virtual membership sites are very popular as it provides a continual source of recurring revenue. The revenue can be frequent and substantial as members join. After creating your first successful membership site, you can use the same process to create several new membership sites. A few things to consider:

Determine your market. It is important to define your target market. Do you already have a following that you can convert into members? If not, consider starting a group on Facebook or LinkedIn. This is how I grew in popularity as business expert. By doing this, made it easier to start National Association Women on the Rise. Recruiting and retaining members will enable you to have a successful site.

Create content for your members. Be creative in how you provide information to your members. For example, we use:
  1. Audio: Audio Acrobat
  2. Written content: Blog articles, interviews, downloadable PDF files, eBooks, resource guide
  3. Video: Vimeo, Camtasia
Research membership site software. This will enable you to manage your member site. A few things to consider:
  1. Membership levels: you can offer two or more levels adding additional benefits with each one.
  2. Encrypted payment gateways such as Authorize.net
  3. Training program using webinars, teleseminars and inviting expert guests
Select a Membership Platform. There are many to choose from so do your homework before making a decision. Here are a few that we are familiar with:
  1. Wordpress using Wishlist and Buddy Press
  2. Ning
  3. Membergate
  4. Wild Apricot
Develop and sell an App

We are constantly introduced to new applications on the market for either cellular services such as I Phones, Blackberry and other PDA’s; or social network sites such as Twitter, Facebook and MySpace. Why not create your own app? Though technical knowledge is helpful, it’s not necessary. It is important to plan what kind of app you want to create; and it should be a practical and worth the price you will charge for it.

According to Lloyd Reshard, founder of Tip or Tap Marketing, LLC., and an award-winning electrical engineer with over 20 years experience as a research scientist, says, “Apps use your phone's web browser, so in that sense they are WebPages. The get more complicated when they interact with the native features of your phone. Some typical native phone features are sound, touch, GPS,accelerometer, clock, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and temperature just to name a few. Using the Socialight do it yourself location based platform I didn't have to write a single line of code to develop the 1st Friday iPhone app.”

As a bonus, Reshard is offering the iPhone app, ‘1st Friday Mobile’ available to our readers for free at the Apple App Store. For Android and other smart phones users, can use the mobile website version of the app at 1stFriday.mobi.

In conclusion, by developing a strategy for creating residual income will ensure that your business is making money whether you are working or NOT!

Online Marketing Part III

#2 Do you own a site or blog?

You have your email address, and your signature. Now you need a website or blog.

I highly recommend if you can fit it into your budget, to get your own site, with your name as the domain name. This makes it so easy for readers to type in your name.com to find you, the easier for them to remember, the easier for them to return.

The website is the best way to start your online promotion. This is a place you can showcase your writing articles, short stories and excerpts of your books.

A lot of writers are using blogs as their homebase because they are more interactive. I suggest you choose which one works for you and fits into your schedule. If you’re not going to make time to update a blog, weekly or monthly, then the website is best for you, because you can update monthly or once a year, depends on how your books are released.

Your website/blog is a perfect place for introducing you and your books to potential readers. The object of your website is to keep the readers coming back. By offering different features, you're sure to bring the readers back.

CONTACT ME

CONTACT ME is one of the most important features on the site. You won't believe how many authors don't have a contact me link. Not having a contact page is a sure way to miss out on a new fan or someone interested in inviting you to speak or attend an event.

You always want a link to how to get in touch with you, snail mail and email.

I recommend you have a separate email just for this link. When you check it, you know it's from someone who visited your site.

BIO

An introduction of you, and why you write is a must for any site. You might want to add a picture, so your fans can see what you look like.

ARTICLES

Articles are a good way to show readers you can write. It also can be used as a tool to teach others from your experiences.

You can offer a different article each month (bring the reader back) or feature three or four that stay on your site.

NEWSLETTER

Another way to keep your fans updated on what's happening with your writing career is through a newsletter. In the newsletter you want to feature all the current events that's happening in your career.

PRESS KIT

Many authors feature online press kits. It's a quick way for the media and fans to get information about the author and their books.

FORUMS

Forums are another great way to communicate with your readers. They can post message and to their surprise you can answer them. This is an excellent tool to get feedback on your books.

GUESTBOOK

Have a place for your site visitors to make comments about the site. Ask them to sign your guestbook. This is another good way to get feedback and to meet your readers.

EMAIL MAILING LIST

Have a link on your site for those visitors who want to keep up with what's happening with their favorite author. This is an opt-in option. Readers sign themselves up.

CHAT ROOMS

Chat rooms are another way to communicate with your readers. You can host monthly chats and see your readership build.

WORKSHOPS

You can use your site or the chat room to host workshops. On the site, they can be articles you post weekly or monthly (remember you're trying to bring the readers back).

BOOKSTORE

Always have a page that features your books and a way for readers to purchase them, either from you (autographed of course) or through an online store. Visitors always want to buy the book after reading an excerpt. You want them to buy your book, so don't forget to offer them a chance to.

COUNTER

You might want to add a counter to see how many hits your site is getting.

RESOURCE PAGE

The resource page is a page that features links to other sites.

WEB SITE/BLOG PROMOTION

Now you have your website/blog and you're wondering how do I let people know about it?

There are different ways to do this:

Signature - add your link to your signature.

Business cards - add your web site address to your business cards.

Email/database - inform your friends, and family members about your new site. Invite them to visit.

Search Engines - list your site in the top search engines.

Link your site to other sites

Link your site to online directories.

Write articles and include your website link in your bio.

In my learning about promotion, I was introduced to a writer who created a course on web page promotion. It is such a good course that I decided it was best to give you the link to her site than try to duplicate what she's said.

http://www.stacistallings.com/acrwcourse1.htm

NOW WHAT?

You have your website/blog, now you want to know what to do next?

You can wait and see how many people find you on their own, or you can invite them to your site.

How do you invite them you're wondering?

By hosting a few activities: chats, workshops and contests.

CHATS

You can host a chat and talk about - u
pcoming releases, writing techniques, favorite characters, great
loves scenes etc.

Maybe your book's theme is about something you think you're readers would be interested in discussing. The chat room could be used for this discussion.

WORKSHOPS

You can use your site or the chat room to host workshops. You can host live workshops on topics you think your readers would be interested in. Or you can host a workshop using articles. You can post a different article daily or weekly that discusses a specific topic. This can be very interactive if you're using a blog.

CONTESTS

Let's start with contests. Contests are a great way to bring people to your site. Everybody loves to win something.

Feature a contest each month and you'll have visitors every month.

Before you host a contest decide what you want from your visitor. This will determine what you do and how often you do it.

1. Are you trying to build up your data base?

2. Are you trying to introduce new people to your book?

3. Are you just trying to have people visit and know you exist?

BUILDING UP YOUR DATA BASE

For this contest you want a prize to bring the people to the site, and a form for them to fill out for the contest. (Make sure you let them know what they are signing up for)

Set up a time frame for how long your contest will run.

Always include a disclaimer note, that you're not collecting addresses to sell.

If you don't have a form system on your site, do a search and find a few free sites that offer easy to use forms.

INTRODUCING YOUR BOOK

Give everyone who signs up for the contest an excerpt of the new book.

CONTEST PRIZES

What you give as a prize will depend on your budget.

• An autograph book

• A theme goody filled basket

• A trip

• Gift certificates

FREEBIES

Freebies are another way to draw readers to your site. You can give away:

• Book excerpts

• Bookmarks

• Bookcovers

• Articles

Remember promotion is what you make of it. If you don’t tell anyone about your site don’t expect to have many visitors. Just because you build it, doesn’t mean they will come. Tell people about your site and they’ll tell people and they’ll tell people.

Leave your website or blog address in the comments section, so we can visit you.

Next month we will break down more of these questions to help you continue to build your plan.

Can’t wait to next month, contact me –sormag@yahoo.com. I’m available for private online promotion coaching.

dreamstimefree_1333671-300x199.jpg?width=300Every solo business owner has a set of processes or systems that either promote their business very well or contribute to the business’ demise. There are really 3 essential systems that any successful business owner needs in place in order to automate the things they repetitively do over and over again, while adequately supporting the brand. These systems form the structure of success because they are the ways in which you continuously reinvigorate your business for expansion and growth.

What is a system?

For purposes of this article, we’re going to define a system as follows: a set of integrated, interdependent processes that can be replicated over and over again to produce similar results.

This article is designed to explain the 3 critical brand support systems for real breakthrough in your business. These essential systems are key to ensuring your success and creating a structure on which your brand can thrive.

It all starts with the BRAND

Before we cover these systems, let’s talk about brand first. As a solopreneur in the “entrepreneurial renaissance” age – a coin termed by business coach, Marcia Bench, you will have to compete against many people who claim expertise in the same field as you. Regardless of their level of experience or visibility, the sheer numbers require that you carve out a way to stand apart from the crowd. Your brand must be distinctive, powerful and recognizable.

The brand is the foundation of any effective marketing strategy. It is how people perceive you. The brand is YOU in a single owner business. If your brand is weak, the systems I will describe below will not operate to support your business. An analogy would be like building a new house, installing a beautiful kitchen, hardwood floors, and hiring a dynamic salesman to greet buyers at the door when the house has no walls yet.

The support systems we will talk about in this article will allow you to deliver great service, they will engage your customer base, and they will automate your delivery but only when you have taken the necessary steps to first put in place your brand strategy.

This means getting clear about what you do, the market you serve, and how you provide the service. Brand support is most connected to the latter – the “how”.

We will spend time outlining the 3 systems over the next group of articles in this series.

10744060467?profile=originalLet start with what networking is not.  Networking is not handing out a bunch of business cards, and hoping someone calls.

Business networking as described by Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Business networking is a marketing method by which business opportunities are created through networks of like-minded business people. There are several prominent business networking organizations that create models of networking activity that, when followed, allow the business person to build new business relationship and generate business opportunities at the same time.

Technology makes it easy for us to expand our circle of influence.  However, the most powerful connections are made face to face.

Master these powerful networking skills and you will gain respect and credibility from your colleagues and clients.

1.  Take a positive and deliberate approach to networking, you will find this extra level of attention makes it easier to establish relationships.

2.  Your business image should reflect your abilities, values, goals, and business mission.

3.  Build brand loyalty one fan group at a time.

4.  Exude energy and passion to command respect and grab attention.

5.  Be honest about what you can do and cannot do.  If something has gone wrong be honest and upfront immediately.

6.  Focus on following up and following through while you’re still at the meeting.

7.  Asking this one questions will increase your bottom line.  “Who is your ideal client/customer, and how can I help you.

8. Remember the name.  We all like to hear our name, but don’t use first names unless you are asked to.

9.  Always defer to the other person.  Don’t monopolize the conversation or talk about yourself too much. Allow the others to have the spotlight.

10.  Using the terms “ma’am and sir”, shows the utmost respect.

11.  Be well informed.

12.  Perfect your “30 second commercial.”

13.  Remain standing as much as possible-you will appear more approachable.

14.  Remain in control even under pressure.

These techniques and tactics will allow you to seize opportunities that otherwise would not be possible.

dream.jpg
Are you ready to Awaken Your Dreams?

It’s time to dream again! Many of us of stopped dreaming or given up hope. Inside of each woman lies a hidden treasure. It is something the God has placed inside of you and sometimes you just need a little push or something to resonate with you to remind you that you we created by God for a purpose and that the world needs you.

What is your ultimate dream? We all dream but some reason never commit to taking the first step or staying the course. Why is it that when I often ask that question what are you doing to live out your dream I get hesitation or a blank stare? Don’t think about the answer to long I want you to write down the first thing that comes to your mind.

God has given each of us a gift to serve his people. Many of us already know our gifts and there are some women walking around still questioning their purpose. I want to encourage you to seek God and ask him what is that you want me to do. The bible says in James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Our gifts and talents are to be used to bring good to the planet. Right now the only thing getting in your way is taking the next step!

I want to encourage you today to take inventory on your gifts and talents. What is it that you possess? If you’re still unsure ask 3-5 close family members or friends to describe you in three words, to identify your strengths and then ask yourself if you agree with them?

Just like with Moses, when you begin to use what’s in your hand, God will add power and miracles to your efforts which always produce success!

What’s in your hands? Grab hold to what you have and take your next step. In doing so, you will start to dream again and find your true life purpose!

Today’s Task:

What is it that you would do, even if you didn’t get paid to do it? It is something that you are passionate about?

Who will this one thing serve or how will it help others?

What has been the one thing that has prevented you from realizing this one thing?

What steps can you take to overcome this obstacle or move beyond it to reach your goal?

When will you do it? (Give it a date within the next 10 days)

How will you do it?

Now…Take the First Step and ; Just do it? Don't forget to share your thoughts with us about your experience!
