Entrepreneurs need to have a healthy dose of self-reflection every now and again. Last week I had you take my Rock the Web Self Assessment Test to discover if you were doing the 7 Crucial Activities required to build a successful online business. This week I want you to do the following:

  • Make a List of the Top 5 things you want to accomplish
  • Look at the above image
  • Answer the question: "Which step have you reached today?"

Sometimes we think ourselves out of opportunities and say we "won't do something" that we might be able really good at. Sometimes we say we can't do something, when all we really need is the right information to get us started. And sometimes we fill ourselves with enough "I think I can" motivation to slowly, but surely get the job done!

Following the SistaSense Road to Success be proactive about finding the right people to give kind of information and encouragement that you need to move foward. bigstock-Its-Raining-Money-7156297-300x200.jpg?width=300Aren't you always hearing "I wish I could attract more money into my life?" I think I've said it myself a few times...I've heard it a lot of times. Especially with that mega millions lottery in the U.S. a few short months ago! And we all heard a few stories coming out of that one, didn't we?

I've checked around and couldn't find anyone who answered 'no' to this question. The reason is - like it or not - much of what determines how much enjoyment we get out of our business or even life depends on the amount of money we have. Sure there are people out there who will tell you they don't want to be rich and that money is the root of all evil blah, blah but these are really misguided beliefs about money that have developed over time. (By the way, the scripture actually says "the LOVE of money is the root...", but we won't get into semantics for this article. Check it out.)

But seriously, who wouldn't want to be able to afford the things they want and need? You already have the ability; you just have so much poverty thinking and baggage in the way, you can't make room for prosperity in your life.

Much of what I share about branding and putting automation systems in place has to do with money - either making more of it or saving it. If you are in business, you need money to keep the business going; otherwise, it's a H-O-B-B-Y, or something else.

It's important to put aside any negative limiting beliefs others have dumped on you about money (did you cringe just now because you read that word again? if so, that's a sign of those ill-gotten beliefs kicking in).

If you are one of the few who had parents with a positive money mindset, consider yourself blessed. But if you are in the majority of people who had parents who believed in hard work, education and the idea that anyone who made money easily was simply lucky, lazy or immoral, then keep reading because you need this.

Money is, of itself, not bad and the amount of it you have is in essence a result of a few key beliefs some people engage in very well. (Trust me, it's taken me quite awhile to get this. I wasn't the fastest cookie in the jar on this at first, especially when I was newer to business).

Let me share just a few brief principles here...
Develop A Wealth Mindset

If your head is full of the conviction that rich people are greedy or power-hungry or must have done something illegal in order to gather the riches that they have, then you don’t have a wealth mindset. And if you don’t have a wealth mindset, then no amount of hard work you do will make up for your lack of money. Just like the poor dad in Robert Kiyosaki's 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad, you will ALWAYS be struggling.

Here's something about rich people that you may not know. Rich people are people who have a strong conviction that there is nothing wrong with being rich and that they deserve it. Not only that, people with a true wealth mindset actually believe that money can be a source for good. It supports families and provides them with food, clothing and shelter. It launches successful businesses that in turn support and replenish communities.
Change Your Motivation

Money can help us get whatever we want. However, there are lots and lots of motivations for being wealthy, some of them good, some of them not so much.

There are people who believe the world is full of abundance and money is instrumental in that cycle of abundance. So it is natural that they think being wealthy is a worthwhile goal. They see it as being within their reach. And for these people, it generally is easier to achieve, because their belief system is in complete alignment and harmony with their sub-conscious mind, which always wants to push us towards well-being. Isn't that cool how God did that? ... creating us to be well? do well? It's our own choices and actions that often take us down a different path.

Something I learned studying NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) for a year with a master practitioner was "mind and body are part of the same system and affect each other", so what you have been programmed to believe shows up in the way you act and make choices. But...you can change these beliefs. It's a choice you have to make though. Choose to live the way you are now, or prayerfully choose to change direction.

Unfortunately, having a positive mindset about wealth is not something adopted the majority of people. Most people go through life with a 'poverty mindset' and keep striving and striving to meet their immediate needs for fear that they will somehow not have enough.' So they do things like lowering their prices, sounding weak in their offers, giving away services they worked long & hard to invest in building.

Does this sound like anyone you know?

Well, to sum it up; if you desire wealth because you believe it's your ticket to achieving good things for yourself and for others, then it will be much easier for you to become wealthy. Your desire to free yourself from the slavery of having a day job, or working your business 24/7 so you can really live and spend more time with your family and be involved in your community is certainly a worthwhile goal. And you should remind yourself every day how worthwhile this goal is.

Sometimes a little structure and a plan can help...Saturday, 5/19/12 I'm holding a half-day virtual bootcamp called Reclaim My Money Power. If you are an entrepreneur sick of making weak offers, want step-by-step strategies to transform your mentality and you really want to design a wealth legacy for yourself and your family, come join me. You can find out more here:http://reclaimmymoneypower.com. No pressure - I really put this together for all my friends who have been asking. Consider and if it's right for you, I'll see you there.

There are many ways to get followers on Twitter. There are

authentic ways and there are gimmicky ways. You want to make sure that you don’t
do the latter if you want to have any level of  sustained success using Twitter effectively.

So what is one quick and easy way to attract more Twitter
followers?

Retweeting. Yes you read it right. Retweeting.

With this method, you take the original twitter message
someone else has posted, and rebroadcast that same message to your followers. When broadcasting the message, you should
definitely give credit to the original poster.  I know at first it may sound like this will only be good for the original tweeter, but
retweeting can actually benefit you just as much if not more because;

1.  It provides added value to your followers.

And you do want to provide added value correct? This will
definitely increase the know, like and trust factor. You are also more likely to attract followers. Providing quality content is always a great way to build your business no
matter what platform you use.

2. It will enhance your brand.

If you point a reader to a source of good information that is truly relevant and beneficial to them, the amount of trust that they have in you will increase.

3. You build relationships with the original tweeter.

Of course you shouldn’t retweet simply because you want
someone to retweet yours, however, giving will enhance your chances of
receiving reciprocation.

It’s all about providing value to your followers so don’t just retweet any and everything.

The bottom line is retweeting is a great way to add quality
and value to your Twitter page. If done right, retweeting can help
you educate your followers, build your personal brand, increase
future traffic, and connect you to other great people in your
niche.

On the flip side you want to be careful that you don’t use
this incorrectly, retweeting can actually hurt your personal brand and future
traffic. Keep your focus on treating your followers like gold. Don’t ever send
them to inappropriate websites or spam them with one sales pitch after another. I
share more about the proper ratio in my WWV Ultimate Twitter Challenge.

Always keep in mind that you want them to trust what you
have to say and the way you do this is to tweet added value content. Content
that will support them in finding solutions for their problems. You want to
stay top of mind as the go to person for what they’re looking for when they
need it and want it. Do this and you will increase your chances of getting the
results you desire.

How will you use this information? Learning is good, however, application is key.

I invite you to join other savvy business owners and aspiring as they turn their Twitter Frustration into World Wide visibility and explode their business success online! Take the Challenge. I will help you set the foundation to extend your reach 1000s and explode your business success online without the stress. Go to the WWV Ultimate Twitter Challenge enrollment page here.

Mother - It Takes One to Know One

10744078493?profile=original

I remember when I first found out that I was pregnant the sheer fright of it all was overwhelming. I had so many things to consider but most importantly - my parents specifically my mother. I was raised by a God fearing, God loving, God everything mother. I was raised in the church and Sundays was reserved for church starting from Sunday School to Sunday morning service and then back for the evening service. The week nights had services as well which I also attended. I could not understand why I had to go to church all the time, I thought my mother was so mean. I was sent to the best schools that they could afford, graduating from an all girls high school. Next step - college. Well, not for me, with my new found independence, I became pregnant. I was so ashamed, I could not find the courage to tell my mother. I knew it would hurt her and after all that she invested in me, this is what I gave in return. I kept my mouth shut and let my pregnancy show for itself. My mother and I coexisted in silence, she was too numb to speak.

During my pregnancy, I had nightmares of having an alien for a baby. I wondered if I would die during the birthing process. I prayed and asked God to please let it be a girl but I just knew it would be a boy because I had no right to ask for a girl knowing that I had sinned. It was such a God fearing ten months, yes it felt as though I was carrying my baby for almost a year. However, after giving birth and hearing that it was a girl, I became overwhelmed. What kind of mother would I be? How would I take care of her?

On the other hand, I was excited that I had a healthy baby girl and I felt that perhaps God was not as disappointed in me as my mother. Somehow, I was able to get through motherhood by applying some of the values that my mother gave me and maturing into setting my own standards and values. I realized very early, while holding my newborn baby in my arms that I wanted the best for her. I wanted her to be smart, to have an exceptional relationship with God, be nice to others, go to college, have great friends and have an amazing life.

While making my detours through life, I completed college and excelled academically. I have accomplished quite a lot and my mother is proud. I am a mother and now a grandmother of girls and I am so thankful to God for giving me the best mother in the whole wide world! I could not have done it without her.

Oh NO, My Mom Is On Facebook

Oh NO,  My Mom Is On Facebook!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of my ‘mom’ readers!  As a mom, you know how hard it is to stay connected to your teen—especially if your teen has a busy online life in addition to all the activities and events they are participating in offline.  I encourage parents to be involved in the online communities of their teens—especially when it comes to Facebook.

“Friending” your child on Facebook is just the first step.  The next step is making sure you keep this “Friend” connection alive and well.  Here are some of my tips for having a great Facebook relationship with your teens:

Do not be an editor:  Opening yourself up to their online world means you will see the good, bad & ugly from your teen.  Do not feel the need to discuss each and every post with them in detail such as correcting their grammar or asking them why they had such a terrible time during that recent family reunion.  Only step in when absolutely necessary.

Watch what you post:  Think twice before posting on your teen’s Facebook page.  This really isn’t the place to reprimand Jimmy for not cleaning his room or for telling Sally what a sweet daughter she is for helping you with the laundry on a Saturday night.

Do not embarrass your teen:  In addition to not posting embarrassing comments on their page, do not share embarrassing information about your teen with your own group of Facebook friends.  No teenager wants to find themselves tagged in a photo from their 2nd birthday where they are wearing nothing but a diaper and cowboy hat.

Remember, their friends do not have to be your friends:   Do not make it your mission to be Facebook friends with all of their friends or to comment (either online or offline) about their friends’ activities and posts.

Pay attention to your own page:  Now that you can see your teen’s page, they can also see your page.  Do not post comments or pictures you would not want your kids to see—show them the appropriate way to use this great social networking tool.

I am also running a contest for a Kindle Fire. Like my page and you can enter. I have my whole website on my blog app. Have a look.

I would love to know what you think of my new pages and my new website.

Let’s protect our Teen’s, while they are texting and using social media site.

A Simple Way To Create A Listening Board

google-alerts-300x176.png?width=300Reputation management online is a huge deal these days. It's so important to keep up with your brand, to know what's being said about you, how you are being perceived as a professional, as an entrepreneur, as a person.

Why? Because how others perceive you determines how they will interact with you. Your job is to eliminate any potential barriers that keep your message of service to the world from being shared.

But how do you do that? What does it take to monitor your brand online? The good news is - it doesn't require that you invest in some high cost tool (unless you are a larger company and you have lots of information to mine). If you are a smaller business, or a solopreneur there are some affordable and even free ways to create your own "listening board".

What is a listening board

A listening board is a dashboard of sorts. Its a way to keep track of what's being said, how often, and what sentiment - i.e. positive, negative, neutral is out there on specific topics, or even people.

How do you create one

Basically, you put together keywords and phrases (including your name, name of your company, common words you use in your content, etc) into a search system and let it email/text you with results when it finds something.

Here is one very straightforward, simple way you can start a listening board. There are others as well but this can be done literally in about 5 minutes.

  1.
List out keywords and phrases as I mentioned already that might be used to find you online

  2. Go to Google Alerts:
http://www.google.com/alerts
  3. Select what type of alert you want to monitor (i.e. videos, blog posts)

  4. Determine how often you want to see it

  5. Click Submit

Wa-la, you now have alerts coming to you so that you don't have to constantly search online to find out where you are being referenced. Now again, there are other much more savvy ways to get this done. In fact, my team even does it for some of my small business clients. But if you're looking for quick and free? This is one way to tackle it.

Hot tip:
if you're using a mail system that allows you to filter email, set up a folder or label to pull all your alerts to one place so you don't have to swim through your mailbox to view them.

Impacting the way the world sees you is far easier than you might expect. By taking specific actions, you can manage your online brand reputation and create a consistent brand and image that bridges both the online and offline world. Crafting your message and delivering it to the world online is just another component of marketing. It truly is one of the most important business strategies you can use.
