Gathering contacts from Ebook buyers

I have finished my first ebook and now trying to figure out the technology size with minimum costs.
1. How do I advertise my ebook
2. Is there a free place to host it
3. Is there a way to auto email them the ebook or do they just download it
4. Is there a way to capture the email and names of these people so I can add them to my mailing list?

  • Kaisha,

Congratulations on finishing your ebook. You are doing this at the right time because ebook sales are up 174%. People are buying. To answer your questions:

How do I advertise my ebook?
Create a blog and talk about your book
Write articles on your topic and submitting to EzineArticles.com
Submit guest post to other bloggers and include a link in the bio section at the end
Use Twitter and Facebook to talk about your book.

Is there a free place to host it and Is there a way to auto email them the ebook...?
This is not a good idea because it could be hacked and downloaded by others
Instead go with e-junkie.com and pay $5 a month for them to host your ebook. It integrates with PayPal (highly recommended) so when people pay the ebook is automatically sent to them. I've been using their service for over a year and have never had any problems.

Is there a way to capture the email and names of these people
When people pay through PayPal they will have to include their email address so you capture it that way. e-Junkie also has a mailing list feature if I'm not mistaken.

This answers your basic questions. If you need more information and assistance feel free to contact me.

Also consider putting your ebook on the Amazon Kindle and Barnes and Noble PubIt! for Nook device. They are both free, but you have to give a percentage of the book cost. But in exchange your book will be available on all electronic devices.

I have two book on Kindle and am preparing to put them on PubIt for the Barnes and Noble Nook device. I've written 7 ebooks and have researched most solutions so my advice is backed by experience.

    All the best!

    • Great advice, Samantha! I also use e-junkie.com for products that I sell. You are correct in that PayPal does provide you with the name and email address of the purchaser.

Kaisha, for products that I provide free-of-charge, I have no problem automatically emailing them the link to the resource. You can only host so many products on e-junkie.com, so I typically host paid products there and I host the free ones myself.
  • Kai,

I provide landing page services that will allow you to promote your e-book, capture the names of those who want access to it and provide them with the link to the e-book automatically. My landing pages start at just $35.

You may email me at lavada@gems-shine.com if you'd like to discuss further.

    Have a blessed day!
