Single black woman worth $5?

The gap between the personal wealth of white and black Americans has grown wider. That's the takeaway from a report, recently released by the Insight Center for Community Economic Development. According to the report, single, middle age white women have a median wealth of $42,600, which is still about 60 percent of single white men; the median wealth for single black women is only $5. Married white women have a median wealth of $167,500, but married black women have a median worth of $31,500.

Thanks very much for posting this.

Assuming this is true, the way to change this is to heal ourselves mentally, emotionally and physically. Our history has left us with many deep wounds and scars, and the statistics show us this over and over again.
