So we are about to move into 2011 in just a few more hours. Some of us have plans to celebrate with family/friends and others have plans for a night in watching the NYE Ball drop in Times Square. Whatever your plans are tomorrow night, please remember to have your ‘house’ in order.
I usually refer to my house rules in my coaching series. Just to define it for you, I am referring to your personal and business associations. Remember when we were younger and our parents would give us chores so that we could get what we wanted? House cleaning is no different….
Success is a mindset. If your mind is tuned into the right channel, you can achieve astonishing results. So before you toast to the beginning on 2011, make sure and take a quick look around your house to make sure it is tidy and all of the right seeds are planted for your harvest in 2011. So let me give you 7 Success Tips for effectively cleaning your house before 2011….
- -Your relationships: Are you connected to the right people who will foster abundant personal and business growth? Are you connected to visionaries who will challenge you make difficult decisions to improve YOU?
- - Do You Have Your Vision Board Ready?: I live by the principles of a vision board. I learned the importance of the vision board from my Grandmother who always had a vision board in her room. She would write words with POWER and cut out articles and paste them to a plexiglass. Her board would have the year and the statement of what her vision represented to her. She would teach me that the power to achieve is all in the power of vision. Make sure you have a vision board/book ready before midnight tomorrow.
- -Get a Pen and Paper: The computer is a wonderful invention and managed to help us stay organized, but every once in a while, pick up a pen and pad and create an action plan to achieve the goals on your vision board. Write down the ‘who’ you need to network with and ‘where’ you need to be. Take note of the things that have not worked so you do not repeat them. Write down your thoughts or just jot down how you are feeling.
- -Take Action!: Remember that goals are date sensitive. In order to achieve your goals, be realistic, set the bar high and take action NOW.
- Do not rush, rather make strategic steps: Some of my clients have so many products out there on the market and can never understand why they are not selling. Simple, you did not strategize a true marketing plan to enable a steady demand for each product. Whether you are an author, chef, accountant, designer, etc, you have to build the demand before your rush your product out into the market. So if you have product that you completed in 2010 that are experiencing slow sales, do not move into 2011 creating a new product, start re-energizing a demand for your previous product or services so you can build a better product or service in 2011.
- -Be Mentored/Coached by Others: The best way to learn how to expand is to learn from others in the business. I am a coach/mentor however, I still invest in coaching myself. Perfecting my brand never ends. Make sure you devote 2011 to investing in yourself and your brand. Do not skip this step!
- Never Stop Marketing!: Do you have a press kit, media pitch, one sheet, personal & professional website, blog, social media presence, sales/squeeze page, newsletter, JV presence…….If so, you are in good shape! Otherwise, you still have some housework!
