By no means am I saying do not celebrate the "nations birthday"... I am however saying... enlighten yourself and your family to the history that sometimes gets left out!! I had the honor of visiting Mr. Douglas' home in the Anacostia Section of Washington, DC when I first moved to the DC/MD area... and it was a BEAUTIFUL and enlightening experience!!! It sits HIGH on a hill in what some people consider a horrible section of the city... but we know differently. Everytime I have driven pass his home... I felt a sense of pride!!! I encourage you to do the same...since so many of us still don't know too much about Juneteeth... I urge you to really put into perspective our nations history! :-) Like I said... ENJOY!!!!
