I often heard "Oh they can't put us back in chains". "Black Folks ain't having that." "If they tried that ...."
All that talk is just bravado and ignorance. Slavery is going on full effect in Africa Right NOW. The United States and some of her allies are in the process of subjugating several independent Nations.
I listen to "Conservative/Libertarian" Radio and you have "Real" White People frightened by the removal and overriding of The Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 bans the military from participating in police-type activity on U.S. soil.
According to Major Craig T. Trebilcock, U.S. Army Reserve in a 2000 article titled The Myth of Posse Comitatus:
"The original 1878 Posse Comitatus Act was indeed passed with the intent of removing the Army from domestic law enforcement. Posse comitatus means “the power of the county,” reflecting the inherent power of the old West county sheriff to call upon a posse of able-bodied men to supplement law enforcement assets and thereby maintain the peace. Following the Civil War, the Army had been used extensively throughout the South to maintain civil order, to enforce the policies of the Reconstruction era, and to ensure that any lingering sentiments of rebellion were crushed. However, in reaching those goals, the Army necessarily became involved in traditional police roles and in enforcing politically volatile Reconstruction-era policies. The stationing of federal troops at political events and polling places under the justification of maintaining domestic order became of increasing concern to Congress, which felt that the Army was becoming politicized and straying from its original national defense mission. The Posse Comitatus Act was passed to remove the Army from civilian law enforcement and to return it to its role of defending the borders of the United States."
What will it be like under martial law? This Ken Raggio description in an article Is Martial Law Coming to America? Will Christians be among the first to be incarcerated?
"Martial law is another term for "police state".
In a police state, the conventional government is suspended (meaning, in the US, that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are no longer the law). In America, Executive Orders will be immediately put into force. The law then becomes whatever the chief executive says it is.
It is the immediate implementation of a totalitarian government.
You will no longer be considered innocent until proven guilty.
You will have no rights to a trial by jury.
You may be incarcerated without a trial."
Those of us who live in Urban Areas may realize that the Black Community
has already reached these conditions.
The question is what are we going to do about it. The election of Barack Obama is not sufficient. We have to take the time to educate ourselves and our community.
We have to develop stronger economic links If we are interested in music and beauty products we need to work on developing a solid manufacturing base. We also need to have people who are willing to market our products.
