NAACP Image Awards Are Tonight

Good Morning Family, (Contact Information At Bottom Of Page) Tonight will be the 39th celebration of the NAACP Image Awards (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT on FOX networks). The Image Awards honors projects and individuals that promote diversity in the arts in television, recording, literature and motion pictures. With a full week of activities the NAACP has been encouraging everyone to be socially conscious and take a stand on critical human and civil rights issues...hence the theme, “Stand Up and Be Counted.” On Monday I attended a lively and spirited NAACP symposium, "Artists & Activism." As part of the Image Awards week, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, hosted a power-packed panel of actors, industry executives, scholars and historians to discuss the cultural impact of celebrity and entertainment, on the image of Blacks in the World. The panel included Debra Lee, Chairman & CEO of BET, Hill Harper of CSI, Judge Greg Mathis, and Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Ed Gordon the moderator had his hands full trying maintain congeniality, as Hill Harper and Judge Mathis expounded on their views of social responsibility vs. monetary gain. ***************(Advertisement)********************* TraVerus Travel - Become a part of the most unique family in MLM To learn more about free travel visit their website www.traverusfaststart.com/yes.html Or contact Candy at 702-354-0519 to find out about income opportunities ****************************************************** This year, over 1,200 entries were received.
