If Barack Obama never becomes President of the Untied States of America, he proved himself today to be a true leader in this country. The issues he brought forth today will be discussed openly in every home, office, and church in America.
Now is the time for us as an online community to spread this message of hope and reconciliation; for us as a black people to discuss the generational differences that divide us; for us as the Black online Diaspora to initiate a dialogue on the future of Blacks in America.

Feedback on Obama's speech is starting to come in from all over the Net (see below).
Many of our Black online leaders and Digital Drummers have started collecting and publishing the Black response. As Lee Green says below, the mainstream media is missing the point and can only see the speech through the narrow lens of presidential politics.
I believe this is a great opportunity to start a dialogue between ourselves on the future of Blacks in America: What do we call ourselves; Pan-africanism in America today; victimism vs. radicalism vs assimilation; the new Black face of politics; generational differences in Black identity...all of which was addressed in Obama's speech.

Bottom line is that his speech is the most important on race relations
in my lifetime ... since the MLK 'I Have a Dream' speech. He laid it
out for us ... and he effectively dealt with (a) Pastor Wright
situation, (b) race relations in America and (c) the hope offered by his
campaign for the presidency. I look forward to hearing from others on
their thoughts about the speech.

Yesterday, Barack Obama delivered one of the most powerful, honest, and insightful speeches on race in American politics by an elected official in decades. He spoke with refreshing clarity about the real issues that divide us and the choices we face. One choice is to ignore the history of racism and its present-day legacy--which will keep us divided. The other choice is for Black people and our allies to understand that history in order to move beyond it, building an America that we can be proud of, one that truly stands for justice and equality.
It was a speech that all of us can appreciate, no matter which candidate we support. And it speaks to what we are trying to build with the National Black Business Trade Association (NBBTA) -- an organization where, despite our difficult racial history, Black business people are able to broaden our coalitions and raise a strong voice for financial reciprocity and equity participation through free enterprise.
If you didn't see the speech, watch it. Either way, please forward this to your friends and family. Much of the mainstream media is missing the point and can only see the speech through the narrow lens of presidential politics. It was much more than that, and you can see for yourself:

James, that was an awesome speech --setting the records straight. Please thanks for sharing. Obama is certainly remarkable leader. Evidences on his campaign coalistion. Will he be the next president of United States of America; my answer to that is a resounding YES.
There's no better times than now for a change in this country before the nation is engulfed by the world tyranny; hate mongers and more importantly race issues; all the vices that sinked historical great empires/nations before ours.
