  • As a publicist, I personally prefer to "warm call," meaning that I attend 2-3 networking events per week, get business cards, and then call everyone that I met to set up a lunch or coffee meeting to find out more about their business and then see how we could possibly become strategic partners. However, I do have to cold call sometimes and have done it a lot in past positions. The good things is that with all of the new social media sites, it's a lot easier to send someone a tweet or invite them to be your friend on Facebook and that may lead to an actual phone call or face-to-face meeting.

  • I'm a typer, not a talker personally. But you have to do the thing that makes you money and drives in business, so if Cold Calling is the thing, well you've got to warm up to it. lol
