The end of January is almost here, and you may find that you're losing momentum when it comes to your 2011 goals. It happens to everyone from time to time, but here's how you can maintain your drive so you can get where you want to be:
Look at your goals. I think one reason we get discouraged and slack on our ambitions is we kind of forget exactly what we want to do. So, take a look the goals and action plan you've written down (and if you haven't written them down, now is a good time to do so) at least once a week. Doing this will help you make sure you're accomplishing the things you want and that you're on track.
Break it into smaller pieces. A lot of times, we'll have a really big goal and want to achieve it in a short amount of time. And when that doesn't happen, we get discouraged and want to give up. It is definitely possible to accomplish big goals, but the only way to do so is by dividing it up. For instance, if you want to increase the number of your blog subscribers to 200 by the end of the year, your goal could be to get around 15-16 new subscribers every month, which would help get you to 200.
Affirm. To achieve your goals, you have to stay positive about them. The best way to do this, I've found, is through affirmations. They help you stay optimistic about what you want to do and help you get there more quickly. Check out this post for tips on writing affirmations.
Visualize. As you probably know, I'm a huge proponent of visualizing success. You have to see yourself achieving your dreams and goals in your mind to make it a reality. Visualize by either closing your eyes and imagining how achieving your goal will look, feel, sound, etc. when it happens or creating a vision board that expresses what you hope to accomplish.
How do you keep yourself going on the journey to achieving your goals? Please share below! : )
