(important) A Lesson Learned

null What a vacation! For 4th of July, I spent a week outside of my office and without the computer. I know, I know, me without the computer, how crazy is that! Anyway, in between playing soccer with the kids and watching movies with the hubby, I couldn't help but think about my business ... you know, the usual thoughts. What am I doing wrong? What am I doing right? How can I make this better? In that quiet time away from it all, I kept coming back to one very important point that kept popping up everywhere. It was in shows that I watched and in conversations that I had. It was like every voice was saying, "If you do the same thing, expect to get the same results." At that point I realized, if I kept doing the same things in my business, I was going to get the same results. You know what I mean? We often think that we are not where we want to be because of some outside force. It's the economy, it's the workload, its the customers, but sometimes its us. Sometimes we are so stuck in our daily habits and patterns that we can't see the truest fact of all. "When you change the way you do things, you will change the results that you get." Let me give you an example. I am often too fixated on keeping my prices low for the good everyone but myself. Once I took one of my products and doubled the price. Before that point, I needed two people to get the kind of money that I now get with one sale. Twice as much money for one sale. Less work, better results, and the same quality I am known for. And all I had to was get out of my own way; just one little change made a big difference. But of course, it’s very difficult to change when you can't see what's wrong.
