OCTOBER is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE is the willful intimidation, physical assault, batter, sexual assault, and/or other abusive behavior perpetrated by an intimate partner against another.  It is an epidemic affecting individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, race, religion, nationality or educational background  Violence against women is often accompanied by emotionally abusive and controlling behavior, and thus is part of a systematic pattern of dominance and control. Domestic violence results in physical injury, psychological trauma, and sometimes death.  The consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and truly last a lifetime.

·               One in every four women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime.

·               An estimated 1.3 million women are victims of physical assault by an intimate partner each year.

·               85% of domestic violence victims are women

·               Historically, females have been most often victimized by someone they knew.

·               Females who are 20-24 years of age are at the greatest risk of nonfatal intimate partner violence.

Wings of Love Ministries (WOLM) is raising much needed funds to help build the lives of women and their children who are victims of abuse through the following program services:

Save a Sister Mentorship Program

WOLM will provide a mentorship program that allows women who have emotionally, physically and spiritually healed from domestic violence, to serve as mentors to those currently battling domestic violence abuse.  Our mentors will serve as advocates and confidents.

Coaching

WOLM will also use trained life coaches to coach victims of domestic violence in rebuilding their self-esteem, so they can know and walk in the knowledge and understanding that they are intricately designed by God and glorify God by using their God-given gifts.

Resource Network

WOLM will provide a network of global resources and collaborative partnerships with faith-based institutions, educational systems, and law enforcement agencies.

WOLM will also provide legal information to victims of domestic violence.  This service will assist victims of domestic violence in making their way through the civil or criminal justice system.  We will also provide general information about the nature of domestic violence, how to obtain an ex parte/protective order, crisis intervention, and recommend resources to assist victims and their children in regaining control of their lives.

Recovery Program

WOLM will enable women and children to heal from their emotional scars caused by abuse, insults, criticisms, and accusations.  We will enable women and children to regain self-esteem, develop skills, and rebuild their disrupted lives by restoring them emotionally and mentally.

“Healing” Empowerment Conference Calls - Helping Empower Women In Navigating Greatness

WOLM will host quarterly informative and therapeutic live tele-conference calls in an effort to empower women by helping them to navigate the greatness that God has deposited in them through biblically-based principles.
