Hello Ladies....Sorry I've been gone sooo long but I've just been dealing with the business of Life....I have a daughter who is graduating from Penn State University, and she has landed a great job in NYC. We need to be in the city by June 14th, 2010, really gettin frustrated with the Brokers....sooo much emphasis on credit....I am an RN, and I'm looking to begin my career in NYC, waiting for my liscense there....anyway need help, my cap for rent is $1700.00, 2 br in Harlem. These Brokers have been trying to place me in the Bronx, really some unsavory areas...access to public transportation important. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to here from you and congrats on your daughter's graduation/employment opportunity....Sorry about the real estate broker situation, but I am not sure about NYC apartments. Hopefully, you'll get some good information from others soon.
I was thinking about your background as an RN and to save some money on NYC commuting costs (taxi expenses are scary), maybe you can obtain some part-time work with a home-based nursing employment service (I'm thinking telephone triage) or a pharmaceutical company (answering questions about consumer health issues/prescription interactions).
Once you're settled, check out (http://www.nurse-entrepreneur-network.com/), since it gives ideas about self-employment for nurses--its a private membership site for $97 bucks and offers a 1-month trial for $15.00 (I keep coming across it).
