About Me:
Mrs. Jill Arrington is the owner of Beyond Your Horizons, a sole proprietorship, an inspired speaking, empowerment coaching and networking resources for women of color. She is a graduate of Women's Initiative for Self Employment and of Western Institute for Social Research. She and holds a B.A. Degree in Human Services and Community Development, a Preliminary Credential in Vocational Education, and is a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner and Grief Counselor. She is currently working on her Master’s in Psychology/Education and is a member of Toastmasters International in Oakland, California. Over the past 10 years Jill has worked as a community college teacher with Peralta Community College, Berkeley Adult Day and Inter-city Services, Inc; and as an Assistant Director and Outreach Coordinator of Women’s Employment Resources Corp., a non-profit. She has coached hundreds of women and enjoys working with the "whole family unit" to keep the family unit together. She was also trained as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for youth and completed her Rites of Passage with Simba, Inc. and was certified to teach African American youth through their mentoring program. Mrs. Arrington is a survivor of rape, domestic violence, and recently lost everything she owned in a house fire. Despite life's storms, she lives each day with zest, fire, creativity and focus for her purpose and mission to inspire and empower women. In today’s unpredictable and unstable economy even the most successful business professionals find themselves at the mercy of the economy and must learn new skills for recreating themselves and their businesses. There is no one today who isn’t facing some type of uncertainty and challenge in these times. Mrs. Arrington believes that the keys to surviving an unstable economy, financial difficulties or unexpected life change are to learn how to leverage new strategies, create lasting partnerships and develop a personal arsenal of coping skills. She states, "In every challenge lies an opportunity for resolution, growth, change and success. One way to capitalize on those opportunities is for me to give back to the organizations who have helped me the most! I bring a willingness to partner with and promote BBWO, WISE and CEO Women because we have similar missions "empowering and educated women to become self-sufficient" and I am always open to collaborate and take on new ventures".
