About Me:

Hello All, My name is Keisha Smith, 33 years old from New Orleans, LA. I started as a youngpreneur at the age of 5 working in the family business, Unity 1 Beauty Supply & Hair Salon. I’ve been a Hair Specialist for over 13 years & a Platform Artist and merchant for Umoja Visions, Inc. for 10 years. I also had a clothing store called Ragg’s Fashions for Ladies and prior to moving to the DFW Metroplex area, due to “Hurricane Katrina”, I had just opened an art gallery, Essence Fine Art & Framing, but lost everything because of the storm. After moving to the DFW Metroplex, I became employed by the Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Disaster Assistance because I wanted to extend as much as I possibly can to help everyone that experience tragedy to get their lives back on track. I met so many people from all different walks of life; and many of us shared the same dreadful curse, “DEBT” and a “CASH FLOW” shortage. Because I was raised to help others working in the small family business, taking care of our clients’ was #1. Whether if it was just to lend an ear or a shoulder to cry on….and ladies you know what I am talking about for those of you who has had the salon experience….our clients entrust us with their most personal secrets, desires, joys & pains. We become the mother, father, sister, brother, best friend & sometimes healer to our clients.
