If you know you have money to do Ebay then you have some thought a small bit about your overhead but you still dont have a clear picture yet.
And don't get it twisted, your budget or what you decide to put into it financially will not be the ONLY factor while attempting to secure success.
Lets say you have $300, you should think, how much bang can I get for my $300. My company teaches start ups how to do this once they decide to become clients. The goal is to stock and open the store. Immediately you should think where does my stock come from? Is it wholesale, do you resell, do you make it? All of those choices come with different overhead. Can they be combined?
Determine the value of your time and what's its worth. How much time can you afford to waste.
No business fashion, jewelry or otherwise has a guarantee of success. But if you start with a solid foundation the strength to stand a little longer will endure.
There could be various reasons why an online business may fail, however researching the business is a great idea. But some of the daily things you must asses is how much leg work do you want to do with your business. How will carry your inventory, and what will that cost? Website alone cost money, how much of a website do you need? What will be your monthly overhead?What major company that is selling what you want to sell is working? Model that company. You will have to market your business, how will you do that? These are only some of things you want to consider prior to moving forward.
No one can promise what you will or wont make in your business. But a business plan and a marketing plan will give you the road map you need to get going. These things wont necessarily promise you riches but it will prevent you from being redundant in your efforts to succeed.
Do you shop online? What type of experience do you have when you shop from your favorite website? Thats exactly how you want your customers to shop from you.
No need to be confused. Fashion has nothing to do with the web design industry other than the fact the web designer can customize your online presence for that fashion business. I own a web design firm and a online clothing store. And as a web designer I cater to ALL industries not just the fashion industry. Just as they have two different domain names, two different websites, they are two different businesses. There was no need to mention the fact that I own Cinnamon Motif on this profile because CM has its own profile. Girl Power!
It would be a good idea for you to read a few of the above articles about starting an online business. This will help you access a budget for you. Determine the type of online business you wish to start and do your research.
You know better than anyone what you can afford, so keep it real and you will do fine.
