About Me:
Jamaican born Beauty Expert, Melissa Hibbért’s love affair with all things glam started at an early age. While in her teens, Melissa began experimenting with makeup on her friends and family and decided to take Cosmetology courses while completing High School in her adopted hometown of Portland, OR. Determined to achieve a higher level of education, Melissa decided to attend college, where she obtained a Bachelors degree in Political Science and then on to graduate school earning a Masters degree in Media Management. Armed with a quality education, Melissa embarked on a successful career in Corporate Marketing for over 14 years working for and with some of the leading brands in the industry such as; Nike Inc., Jordan Brand Division, BET Networks, UniWorld Group Inc., Los Angeles Times Media Group, Burger King Corporation, Ford Motors Co., Coca Cola to name a few. But the pull of her first love proved too strong, so she decided to shift her career path and began a journey to reinvent herself - to follow her true passion: Beauty. To make her new career focus official, Melissa trained intensively under some the top Celebrity Makeup Artists in the industry. Through hard work and dedication to hone her craft, she is now a "go-to" Beauty expert and Makeup Artist for both celebrity and private clients alike. Her passion for beauty and to make every woman feel glamorous, along with her contagious enthusiasm, positive attitude and grace - helped her to become one of the industry’s most dynamic, in-demand talents. The face is her canvas and Melissa believes every woman deserves to look as fabulous and glamorous on the outside as she feels on the inside. Melissa is squarely focused on empowering women everywhere to celebrate their uniqueness and individual beauty. Her aesthetic is to focus on "total beauty" by incorporating Makeup, Hair and Styling in the business strategy as a beauty professional. Melissa's work can be seen on TV One, Oxygen, CBS networks to name few, in addition to digital platforms like BET.com, Essence.com, Ehow.com, Youtube and more. Further, her work has been published on the cover of several beauty & lifestyle magazines and is a frequent contributor to leading Beauty blogs. In addition, to being a dynamic, professional Makeup Artist, Melissa is also the Founder of SHEEQ Cosmetics, a luxury Makeup and Skincare brand for Women of Color. Her aim and focus are clear - to leave a legacy of service, helping women reveal their best self through Beauty.
