What's Your Business?

Provide Business Coaching, Training, Seminars, Products and a Online Resource Center to Small Businesses, Non-Profits, and Faith-Based Organizations.

About Me:

Paula Watts is a nationally recognized Executive Business Coach to many small business entrepreneurs. An expert on the procurement and management of Federal government contracts and grants. Ms. Watts conducts seminars and workshops across the country on small business start-up and business expansion. Based on her experience as a business owner and a 8(a) government contractor for nine years, and not having the necessary training as a President/CEO, Ms. Watts felt the passion to provide training to start-ups and business owners, to eliminate many of the trial and error lessons she had to encounter as a business owner. Ms. Watts’ mission is to assist start-ups and small businesses to become successful, by living by her motto of “Your Success is My Success”. Ms. Watts currently volunteers as a SCORE Counselor-A Resource Partner with the Small Business Administration. Ms. Watts was formerly the President and CEO of Innovative Technology Group, Inc. (formerly JW Associates, LLC), in Silver Spring, Maryland. With more than 20 years of experience in program planning, budget development and management, project management, contract administration, technical and proposal writing, Ms. Watts has managed consulting contracts in excess of $20 million. She also has served as a technical monitor of contractor performance to insure contract compliance, and also assisted in the development of automated contracting procedures. Innovative Technology Group (ITG) was established in 1996 as a Federal government contractor, and received 8(a) certification in 1999. ITG delivered a wide array of information technology services, which included web site development, data base creation, conversion and management, CD-ROM production, graphic design, clearinghouse support, and conference support. ITG’s clients included the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Agency for Health Care Research (AHRQ), the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and others. In 2000, Ms. Watts founded the Herbert J. Watts Foundation (HJW), Inc. A nonprofit 501 (c) 3 organization, the mission of the HJW Foundation is to open doors to educational opportunities for at-risk youth in Asheville, North Carolina. The HJW Foundation provides scholarships, job training, and computer training to students aged 13 to 17 who have shown strong capabilities, but who have received only limited guidance in accessing educational financing and training through traditional methods. The foundation has proudly awarded six scholarships since its inception and four of the six students are now enrolled in universities. As the old African proverb states, “It takes a village to raise our children”. The Herbert J. Watts Foundation is committed to living by this proverb by continuing to serve our youth.
