Shawnta Porter is an entrepreneur with a love for fashion. After several years of operating the successful clothing boutique in Detroit, owner Shawnta Porter decided to lead her rapidly growing business in a new direction. With increasingly strong sales and growing demand, Porter plunged into the world of e-retail and started her e-boutique Fitzcouture.com She envisioned Fitz Couture to be a website that showcases the intricate combination of true femininity and sex appeal. In addition to the urban chic the store is known for, FitzCouture is expanding its collection to feature vintage women’s clothing and accessories. Shawnta is excited about the addition of rare and vintage pieces. She has a fondness for styles from the Harlem Renaissance era. "Women of the past were more put together, feminine yet sexy", says Porter. Shawnta is a visionary and wants shoppers to be able to put together a total look to express their individuality, creativity, and most importantly, their fashion freedom. While operating her boutique and Fitzcouture.com, Shawnta developed new clientele freelancing as a consultant and stylist for print media and local entertainers. Shawnta's work has appeared in the portfolios of several upcoming models and photographers, Below Zero Magazine, Rollin Out magazine, coordinating fashion shows and working backstage at Detroit Fashion Week. Currently Porter is expanding into clothing design, and plans to launch a private Fitzcouture label. She is a student of the International Academy of Design & Technology.
