About Me:
Tracy Chiles McGhee, the Founder and Executive Director of the WOMA, is a professional writer. Besides responding to the communication needs of individuals and small businesses, she is also a published creative writer. Her works have appeared in several publications including Planetary Stories: Black Earth Institute, BOMB Magazine, Coloring Book: An Eclectic Anthology of Fiction and Poetry by Multicultural Writers and Slow Trains Literary Journal. Currently, she is the author of the blog “Passionate Self by Tracy,” where she encourages her readers to live passionately and follow their dreams by and through sharing her musings. Before becoming a professional writer, McGhee was an Attorney and Program Manager at University Legal Services (ULS) Protection and Advocacy Program, the federally mandated protection and advocacy agency that represents persons with disabilities in the District of Columbia. Before joining ULS, she was an Attorney for the Legal Aid Bureau in Riverdale, Maryland, a non-profit organization that provides free civil legal services to low-income and elderly Maryland residents. Tracy, with roots in both Arkansas and California, is a graduate of San Francisco University High School, Georgetown University and Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law. When she isn’t working and spending time with family, she enjoys immersing herself into the rich arts scene in Washington, D.C. and volunteering for organizations that impact women and youth. Finally, she is a principal of "The Venue Project" (a collective of women community servants dedicated to finding innovative ways to use location and space to direct social change).
