This 30" x 20" shield is an exact replica of the Maasai shield. Made from real goat skin, this red, dark brown, and white shield is used as part of the rites of passage ceremony where a young boy must use his shield and spear to show his manhood. Lined with real animal fur on the edges, and supported by a wooden handle along the back of the shield allows for easy handling, or hanging. An excellent piece to add to any dwelling space!
