A monk has his hair shaved with a straight razor at Kharchung Drastshang Monastery, a monastery in Bumthang run by Lamai Namkhi Neangpo Rinpoche, a high lama. The monks keep their heads shaved in keeping with their commitment to live simply and modestly. At this monastery, they shave their heads once a month.
