Marketing/PR and Children's Book Writing/Editing
About Me:
I am a children's book writer, editor and marketing specialist. I got my start in publishing at the age of twelve working for Just Us Books, the children's book publishing company my parents, Wade and Cheryl Hudson, founded. I have since edited many books for young people including One Million Men and Me, Path to My African Eyes, The Secret Olivia Told Me and A Test for Tayesha.

As Director of Marketing for Just Us Books, I planned the company's fifteenth anniversary gala in 2003, its Salute to Black Heroes in Science celebration, and dozens of book fairs, author events and community programs. Heading public relations I secured placements with the Associated Press, Voice of America Radio Network, Woman's Day magazine, Essence Magazine and many other media outlets.

I'm a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Douglass College, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ, anda founding board member of The Knowledge is Power Project, a youth literacy non-profit organization. I am also a partner in Hudson Publishing Group, which co-founded (with Kensington Publishing), a new multicultural children's book imprint named Marimba Books.

I am available for freelance editorial work, including proofreading, copy editing, copy writing and manuscript development. For more information, please visit my web site (below).

Hi there, I just wanted to introduce myself and my new business. I am trying to network with as many people as possible to see if there are ways that we can support each other. I offer unique and affordable works of African art that make impactful gifts for all occasions. If you have a special occasion coming up, or if you just want to connect with Africa yourself, please bookmark our site.

Do you know anyone who has a birthday or special event coming up, Katura?

Thank you for your consideration.
