My sister, Lisa, was 35 years old when she was stabbed to death 21 times by her husband. At that time, their daughter, Alesha, was only 9 years old. Not only did she lose one parent, she lost two. My brother-in-law was sentenced to 20 years in prison, this was back in 1997. We learn today that because of his "good behavior" he will be eligible for parole in 2011.
What is wrong with our judicial system? The prisons are full of drug dealers, drug users, shoplifters, even people who have parking tickets. Why can't people who take a life lose theirs? If and when Obama makes President, this is one issue I will crawl to Washington to get someone to pay attention to.
The neighbors who was sitting on their porch on the night that my sister was killed did not know what was going on in the house across the street, but they did say they heard a women's voice scream, "Lord, bless my children". Not only did he kill my sister, stabbing her to death 21 times in her home, but he took her to Alabama and buried her himself in a man made grave he had dug earlier. Now I ask you, would you want him back on the streets?
