Have you ever been so caught up in the hype and excitement about something and then later wondered what was all the fuss about?

What was it for you? That last "miracle" diet that allows you to eat whatever you want and lose 20 pounds in two weeks? Or, was it that "once in a lifetime" small business coaching program that is supposed to get you 10 new ideal clients in a week?

I recently jumped on the P90X bandwagon and jumped right back off. LOL I was very excited, at first. Looking for that "miracle". However, once the excitement wore off, I quickly realized that it was not the program for me at that time. It wasn't going to help me achieve my weight loss goals. It didn't fit in very well with my crazy schedule. It just wasn't for me.

Your products and services are not for everybody.

Creating artificial hoopla and hype surrounding your products and services will only take you so far. Yes, you may get a few customers who get caught up. Once they find out they really didn't need what you were offering, they're gone. Never to return. And, they probably won't refer any new clients to you.

If you really want an effective website that sells 24/7, the first step is to identify your audience for which you are filling an unmet need. Go beyond the demographics. Understand what makes them tick. What do they value and believe in? What are their goals and desires? Aspirations?
