My business is expanding to include bath and body products. This means getting a more functional website. I am looking into Homestead website. I need to have all my company info in one place now: my radio show links, my blog info exported and my online store. Does anyone have any great advice for websites? One that isn't expensive, is compatible with MAC and one that offers a free trial or a monthly payment?

  • Hi,

I used Weebly to create my website for free. All I paid for was the domain name. Currently my website functions as a blog, it also has regular web pages and e-commerce capabilities. I found that Weebly was pretty easy to use and it is compatible with MAC. It's probably not as sophisticated or flexible as some the other tools that are out there but for a free resource I think it's pretty good and suits all of my needs right now. There's also an option to upgrade to Weebly Pro for a fee and with the upgrade comes additional capabilities.

    Hope this helps!

  • Hi Candace,
Congratulations on your expansion! That is great! I own a web design studio and would love to work with you on a design for your ecommerce store. Homestead is a good program but not very flexible when it comes to designing your site. Most website builder programs have limited design functions. It's better to create a site based on your exact needs-design it too look exactly like you want! A website is a great investment for any business so you should make sure it really reflects the style and design that you want.

We offer two types of design services: premade templates and custom design. Our templates are very trendy and catered to women biz owners. We also offer hosting services for $10.00 per month. Please visit our site and let me know if you have any questions.

    • I'd like that. I was just considering turning my current blog/website into a Ning network but I don't think they have an estore function. I also still want viewers to be able to blog and have all of my feeds. My email is cohoyo1@yahoo.com I am going to visit your site now.
