Chief Marketing Officer (CMO):  MC, do you have an update for me?

Marketing Campaign (MC):  Uh, sure.  Things are going pretty good.

CMO:  What do you mean exactly?

MC:  Well, we're getting the word out and building awareness.  You know.  All of that good stuff.

CMO:  Are we seeing an increase in traffic to our website?

MC:  I think so.  Yes.

CMO:  How big of an increase compared to last month?  What about our conversion rates?  Are we converting more prospects into leads this time around?  How much of our marketing budget have we recuperated at this point?

MC:

CMO:  MC?

Yes, it's a little silly.  Aside from the fact that marketing campaigns aren't people, you get my point.  If we are going to be successful, we need the right information at our fingertips to help us make the best decisions for our businesses.  For those of us on a shoestring budget, every dollar counts and we don't want to throw money away because we can't figure out what works for our businesses and what doesn't.
