  • Use analytics tools. They will help you determine if you are indeed getting visitors, but perhaps they are not commenting or clicking on your ads. You could then attempt to determine what needs to change in your content to keep visitors interested.
    • Thanks for the tip...I'll be sure to do so and I'm also trying to find a self publishing company that is suitable for my new book. My book contains graphic nature and explicit language. Would you by any chance know of any black self publishing companies or aspiring self publishers?
      • I, personally, do not. You are among a great group of women business owners of color. I'm sure it won't take too long to find someone who can assist in that arena. Good luck!
        • Well if you know of anyone please let me know. I appreciate your assistance. :-)
  • To find out what sites are linking to yours, go to Google and type "link:www.yourdomain.com". External links are important in determining a website's ranking; however, do not use link farms. A good way to get links to your blog is to find other similar, relevant blogs, comment and link to them. The owner of the other blog may return the favor.
  • To determine if your site is indexed by Google, go to Google and type "site:www.yourdomain.com". Doing so displays a list of all of your pages that have been indexed. If the list is blank, this is a problem. Hire a good web designer/programmer who has experience with SEO or buy a book or two to figure it out yourself.
  • When you say you cannot afford to blog, are you talking about time or money? It doesn't have to cost money to promote a blog. All you need is time and good social media marketing skills.
    • I have the time to blog..I just don't have the money to generate traffic..I was reading about google adsense..does that cost money?
      • AdSense is a way for you to generate revenue by advertising for other companies on your blog or website. As the advertiser yourself, you might be interested in AdWords. With this program, you purchase keywords and your ads are placed on sites whose content matches those keywords or on the search results pages when someone searches on those keywords. Have you tried Search Engine Optimization techniques or email campaigns?
        • No have'nt tried it..is it inexpensive? by the way, I sent you a message
