About Me:

Founder of LIVED2TELL Three times breast cancer survivor Ms. Brown was born on September 10, 1961. She is a divorced, mother of three children. She received an Associate's Degree in Applied Business, from the University of Cincinnati. She was a member of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, GA, when LIVED2TELL was founded, where she served on the Healing Ministry. Ms. Brown is currently a member of Berean Christian Church in Stone Mountain, GA. LIVED2TELL is her testimony. Ms. Brown's primary breast cancer occurred at the age of 24, at which time, her left breast was removed and a saline implant was installed. At the age of 31, she experienced her second occurrence with cancer and had to undergo chemotherapy and radiation. Shortly, thereafter, the saline implant ruptured and had to be removed. Tram Flap reconstructive surgery (which involves removing stomach muscles and using them to rebuild the breast area) was performed. After the surgery, the Tram Flap failed and Lift reconstructive surgery (which involves using the back muscle to rebuild the breast area) was performed to complete the reconstruction process. This was only the beginning of the challenges that God allowed her to go through in order to build her faith and trust in Him. At the age of 38, Ms. Brown was stricken with breast cancer for the third time and had to undergo chemotherapy, surgery, chemotherapy again after the surgery, and radiation. With God's grace and mercy she was able to overcome. During this time, the Spirit of God spoke to her concerning her purpose for life: To start an organization that would allow her to reach out to other cancer patients;to encourage and educate women of all ages, including teenagers, to become aware of their bodies, to get yearly checkups, and mammography, where applicable, and to be an example of how God has allowed her to "Live to Tell" her story. After dealing with three occurrences with cancer, Ms. Brown needed a change in her life. When God made that change, her life took on a new beginning, which lead Ms. Brown to LIVED2TELL.

  • I would love that! I don't think I've found my niche yet. I'm trying to reach the right people, but its very hard! I would love to work with you! I think what you do is great, and such an upliftment to women who have survived cancer, unfortunately my mom passed away when i was 12 from cancer. So all of you are very blessed. Keep up the good work! You should check out givenbeauty.org i think they are a wonderful organization you should take a look at. My friend was diagnosed last Thanksgiving with breast cancer. She is still doing radiation, but she started that organization down in Florida.
  • Thank you Cheryl for sharing your story, so that many others may come to know that life is so worth living. Even after encountering the health issues that you experienced, your greatest gift is the love that you have for others and the determination to follow God's will for your life. Thanks for sharing and caring. Gwen
  • Thank you very much Cheryl. “The Greatest is Love” was about a well to do African American Family who lost the wife/mother in the 9-11 attacks. The husband/father turned to drugs with the help of his “friends” and the daughter won tickets to see me “E-Man” and R Kelly type ( backstage who had his boy slip something in her a drink), behind her fathers back. She also was underage and shouldn’t have called in the radio station to win the tickets. Her father lost the children. The courts gave custody to the grandchildren. In the end, the father got his self together, got the children back and the mother came back in the spirit to talk, laugh and joke with him. There were multiple messages in the play. After the “Greatest is Love”, Gloria Williams went on to create a play about cancer before she passed.

  • Peace Cheryl,

Thank you for your friendship! Yours is a deep and incredible story. I am touched. My mother passed in February due to Ovarian cancer and the director of a play that I was in "The Greatest Is Love" and good friend Gloria Willams passed a few weeks after her. Thank you for shining light that enables some of us who are somewhat closed to being solution oriented about it to start to think, feel deeper and take action.

    Sincerely,

    Kamal
