  Hey maam. I am the writer,producer and lead actress from the play "The Cycle". October 10, 2009, HawkFilmz Enterprize and FAM Entertainment Theater Co, NFP, did something that no other film and theater companies had done in the city of Chicago before. Filmmaker Parris Reaves transformed the touring stage play “The Cycle” into a motion picture.
  
  I have submitted this film to the ABFF (American Black film festival in Miami) this June. IF chosen, Miami will show my film late June.   We are a collective of women who fast weekly from sunrise on Monday until sunrise on Tuesday (drinking only water) and practicing being mindful of who we are at the very center of our lives.
  
  We know that fasting acts as a great purifier of body, mind and spirit. And because it is the only opportunity for real healing to take place as a opposed to treating symptoms, many women in the FastGirls community use this weekly practice to free themselves from symptoms of everything from diabetes and fibroids to arthritis and high blood pressure. And because we cannot separate the physical from the spiritual, there are always inspiring stories of women who have begun to experience greater peace, clarity, self assurance and control.
