About Me:
I started out my career in retail Management which lasted for about ten years and then made the decision to embark on a new chapter in my life as a stay at home mom. My husband and I raised 3 wonderful children whose ages are now 16, 18 and 20, I built a Mary Kay business and earned the use of a free car. During this season of my life I was also challenged with a life threatening illness that I victoriously overcame, which helped me to clarify what I wanted in my future. Once the children started grade school I was ready to get back out in the work force. Feeling like June Cleaver warp speed into the 21st century, I was a bit overwhelmed and my skill set was quite rusty to say the least. After learning some basic computer skills, more than how to turn the computer on, I set out into the New Frontier. I landed an office manager position with Alliance Strategies. A company I worked at for a little over three years and that I now own. Alliance Strategies is an association management company servicing the greater Seattle/Bellevue area. We provide a wide variety of services to a diverse client list. We act as a liaison to members including board and committee members and outside vendors fulfilling requests for information. We may also provide day to day routine duties. I have been a small business owner now 8 years, during which time, I've come to understand that the American Dream of owning your own business does not automatically equal time freedom AND wealth. It’s true when they say ‘whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger’. Currently healing from my second battle with cancer, and having been miraculously given the victory once again, my focus has been refined a little more, and I see things a little differently. Life is too short to not be able to live your life according to your own values and desires. I'm now owner of a business that GUARUNTEES time freedom AND wealth, and in this current economy not many people can say that!
