About Me:

A graduate of Purdue University, Marsha has worked in the social marketing, public relations and crisi communications field for more than 15 years. Her works have appeared in such regional publications as about…time magazine, Rochester Business Magazine, Women In Motion, NV Magazine Business Strategies, The Scene, and Gannett’s The Insider and the Democrat and Chronicle. Her weekly 411 column appears in The Buffalo Challenger. Marsha’s short stories have been published in Visions and Viewpoints: Voices of the Genesee Valley and COMPEER’s The Healing Power of Friends. The former Irondequoit blogger for Gannett Rochester's newspaper, the Democrat and Chronicle, she writes under the moniker “Queen Marsha” for the paper’s MomsLikeMe.com. Marsha Jones teaches creative writing, poetry, and journalism classes to middle school students in New York State and performs interactive storytelling for pre-school and primary students. The author of two novels, Love Begins with Truth and Win...Win, Marsha Jones's holiday short story, "Peyton's Gift" was featured in Gannett Rochester Newspaper's Christmas Day 2009 edition. Currently, she is working on a memoir, When You're The Mommy: Memoirs of A Stroke Survivor. She is the past president of the Rochester Association of Black Communicators and chaired its now defunct Ethnogenre Film Festival for five years.
