About Me:
Growing up, every doll I had ended up having short (or no) hair. By 12, I learned how to press and braid mine. By 15, my dad (a licensed barber for over 20 years) was teaching me how to do fades in the kitchen. At 16 I set up my own braiding business spending most Saturday's braiding hair around Visalia and I also learned a little about the industry. Owning his own barbershop, my dad would tell me "you have to pay when you work". So, without any thought I gave him 10% of every head I did. It was also at that time that I thought everything I was learning in school was pointless because I was going to be a hairstylist (haha). A week after I graduated high school, I moved to Oakland to live with Uncle John who is my dad's baby brother, a licensed barber himself and owner of Harrison Bros Barbershop. I was excited to learn the ins and outs of hair but my passion faded very quickly. At the persistence of my dad and Uncle John, I finished school and took my state board test only to let my license collect dust. Four years later, I was playing dress up with my daughter when my passion and desire to do hair came back with a vengeance. And here I am today.......
