About Me:

I began crocheting at a very young age (I believe around the age of 7/8). A family member showed me the very basic chain link stitch, and how to crochet blankets and hair accessories. Well I continued to crochet those items until I got bored or tired of storing incomplete blankets in my closet. It wasn't 'til years later I realized that I just didn't have the patience to finish a blanket. Later (1989), a supervisor showed me how to crochet a scarf. My interest in crocheting was sparked again but soon fizzled after a few months. 15 years later I discovered that it wasn't the lack of interest in the art of crochet, but the lack of VISION. Although I was very appreciative by the teachings of this art, I didn't relate to it or feel a connection until I BELIEVED in the VISIONS given to me. Tracey Ambrose W.R.A.P. (formerly known as only W.R.A.P.) began in the summer of 2004 when I crocheted an oversized scarf/wrap as a gift to a former manager as a going away gift, and the rest is truly history. From that point on, other employees around the office wanted a scarf/wrap for themselves or as a gift to family/friends. A co-worker gave me the ultimate compliment by stating that the crocheted items looked as though they came from a boutique or “high end” store/boutique! The same co-worker stated that I should decide on a business name. Therefore, I came up with W.R.A.P. because it described the items (wraps and scarves) as well as a deeper meaning to why the business exists (with revelation and purpose). During the summer of 2005, I began to strategically plan a "W.R.A.P." (with revelation and purpose) party at my house during November of the same year. The "W.R.A.P." party was such a surprisingly success, with only selling SCARVES/WRAPS at the time, I decided to host another in December and did just as well! But the month of December 2005 signifies the launch of showcasing my items in a local boutique! A simple email to a friend (who owns a boutique) almost harassed me for the new item, bolero/shrug. From January 2006 to the present has been absolutely FANTABULOUS. Three boutiques (Darla’s Closet, Fitz Couture, and Heaven Simone) are currently showcasing selected items by Tracey Ambrose W.R.A.P. It's a lot of work but "to whom much is given, much is required." I am forever grateful and I do not take for granted the vision that God has given me. The visions are the pattern of each item. The item(s) you purchase is truly a gift. ...DON'T SLEEP the vision is not over, it only gets better.
