About Me:
I'm an avid reader of AA romance and an author. I released my self-published debut novel A Special Summer November 2006. After receiving positive feedback from readers I decided to submit my manuscript for traditional publishing. In August of 2007 I was offered a contract by Xpress Yourself Publishing to re-release A Special Summer. My novel was officially released on March 4, 2008. Being an author is definitely like having your own business. As an author it's my responsibility to promote my work. 1991 I graduated with honors receiving an Associate Degree in Applied Science majoring in Nursing. The following year I began taking classes part-time (as I worked full-time as a registered nurse) to further my education. I graduated Maxima Cum Laude with a Bachelor's (1999) and Master's (2001) degrees in Nursing from LaSalle University. I also work as an adult nurse practitioner caring for patients with sickle cell disease. Since 2002 I've operated a free Hypertension clinic at Refuge Evangelical Baptist Church (my home church). In 2005 I was the winner of the Regional and National Nursing Spectrum Nurse of the Year Award for Clinical Care. March 2006 I was also awarded the the Movers and Shakers Award presented by the American Women’s Heritage Society, National Association of University Women, National Association of Phi Delta Kappa, Top Ladies of Distinction and Two Thousand African American Women.
What are your most common online activities?
Networking and book promotion. I also enjoy interacting with my romance groups discussing romance novels.
