About Me:
I am a African American women who, after a successful life, lost everything to a hurricane in FL. 2004, after which, I fell between the cracks because of Katrina. I found myself homeless with pets, There were no shealters that would take pets, so my husband and myself slept in our car. Most of the time good people helped us. Because of the situation I opened a homeless shelter for families including their pets. The Shelters do not offer housing for families they want to break up the family the children goes into the social service system and the two parents go to seperate shelters, providing availability. I also find myself starting over at a age when I should be getting ready to retire. I also realize that most organizations who are funded to help the homeless don't address the prevention process. Which I've come to know is a waste of taxpayers money. So, I decided to open a shelter that address both families and prevention.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month www.nationalbreastcancer.org/default.aspx
Do use the month of September to find a way to support the Breast Cancer Movement, even if it's just to increase your knowledge.
View the Breast Cancer articles and video segments. Encourage your loved ones to schedule their mammograms for October, and remember to do Self -Examinations. Early detection is key!
Breast Cancer is not just a woman's disease; men should examine their breasts as well.
I've received TONS of requests to re-play the interview with David and Tamela Mann. She's so pretty! Well here it is...ENJOY!
