October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month www.nationalbreastcancer.org/default.aspx
Do use the month of September to find a way to support the Breast Cancer Movement, even if it's just to increase your knowledge.
View the Breast Cancer articles and video segments. Encourage your loved ones to schedule their mammogram's for October, and remember to do Self -Examinations. Early detection is key!
Breast Cancer is not just a woman's disease, men should examine their breasts as well.

I'm not sure what I can contribute to this conversation. I'm pretty much over this type of discussion since I feel time is better spent gaining an education and moving forward in our spiritual, personal & professional lives. In my years I've learned many minds won't be changed on the negative aspects of this issue rather the negative thoughts just go under the surface. Here's where group therapy can have a postive impact - then again that's a stigma for some communties as well.
From my perspective the biggest impact on this topic can be conversations & programs held with young people who are still open minded, eager to learn and have the most to gain from "young" empowerment. Self love, or not, starts at a very early age - much earlier than most realize and must be reinforced and encouraged along the way.

I received tons of letters last month, asking me to do an article on light skinned vs dark skinned, and good hair vs bad hair. I didn't even know this was still an issue, but it is. Give me your suggestions. I want to do my best in promoting self love.
