About Me:
Visit Rewriting the Script
No one challenges traditional roles and stereotypes more than Arlether Wilson. She defied the odds and today she is the award winning author of Rewriting the Script, a veteran police officer, certified Child Abuse and Family Violence Investigator.
As a victims’ advocate, she is responsible for the coordination of all victim service operations at her department.
Wilson earned her Master Peace Officer Certification, which is the highest honor bestowed upon a Texas peace officer. During her tenure she promoted up the ranks and became the first female captain at her department. In 1998, she was honored as officer of the year and is recognized as a leader in her profession. Among several other honors, she has earned several congressional and senate commendations. .
But she didn’t stop there. Wilson became an avid volunteer and advocate for women and children across the country. Audiences around the world are receptive to her experiences because she is truthful and transparent in her approach.
She holds a bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master’s degree in Behavioral Science. Arlether is the Texas Ambassador for w.o.m.e.n.EO, Inc., a national organization that supports and empowers women and young girls.
In 2008 she established the Arlether Wilson Scholarship Fund. Its mission is to provide financial assistance to students attending Phillis Wheatley High School. The fund believes that education can help empower students and improve their quality of life.
In addition to being the owner of the Jerant Publishing Company, she is also a contributor to Think Positive Magazine, a new publication that motivates its readers to make positive life changes. She is currently co-author of a new book titled “Urban Teens and the Law”, which will be available this Fall. The first book from her new Teen Series will be available Spring of 2009.

"It’s Crunch Time!”, This is a new children’s book by Marie Brewer (www.helenbrewer.com for the link to book) This is my book of muscle for boys (ages 9-12) to point them in the direction of HOPE!...This is an interactive book where they can write about their feelings. It discusses acceptable behavior, honesty, good self-image, respect for females and animals, appreciation for teachers/school, choosing good friends. The book also talks about resisting gangs, guns, drugs, violence, alcohol and bad influences. Let's attack the behavior, not the boy. "It's Crunch Time!" , by Marie Brewer, www.bbotw.com. Be a part of the village to help our boys envision their true God-given purpose!
We can turn this thing around! SEE! THINK ! ACT!
